Another Co-mingle Friday route. But todays video is co-collect only so here we go.
Recycling was pretty light, you actually get to see the entire route's recycle pickup in 45 minutes.
Date: 5/20/2022
Location: Shirley, Ma, USA
Truck: 2020 Mack LR640 Labrie Automizer 60/40 Split 37yd
Please note*
You may notice material sneaking under the divider panel. This was brought to my attention in a previous video and has been reported to our maintenance. Unfortunately it seems as it was a piece of steel that broke when the divider panel broke off a few months ago. I am in the process of getting that ordered and fixed. So please keep your comments to yourself regarding stuff falling through this crack.

Lot of cross contamination with the recycling falling into the trash. Great video as always!

Yea it's really bad. Trying to get it fixed but.. not much I can do about it

No. but it should. The company technically self-polices this stuff but they are too afraid of upsetting customers so they just let people put whatever they want. I have so many videos of recycling carts that are just chock full of trash and i can't do anything about it.

im thinking people sort out glas plastic and paper from the regular garbage as old food diapers and other stuff and the recycle of plastic glas and paper get sorted out at the recycle plant.

Not every recycled piece gets recycled anyway but still it does hurt😢

I used to drive a split body as well, its interesting that you use the side with the crusher panel for trash.

Crusher panel is over the 40% side which I normally use for trash. Trash does a better job at compacting itself. Sometimes, it needs a little push from the crusher. Recycling.. Sucks no matter what chamber it's in or if it has a crusher panel.

You need a air/water jet that flips lids prior to hopper

Hi mate I don’t think they could put a water jet on that because it doesn’t operate like a comb lifter and they only use The water jet and collect is picking up slip bins like what they used to Marion and west Torrance

The blue bins are for paper, cardboard and metal, and the black bins are for everything else?

Yes. Black for trash, Blue for single stream.

How do you know it needs compacting or is it all automatic?

It's mostly automatic but it's a good practice to keep the hopper clear.
