On a serious note I hope he gets better psychologically. I've heard Joey bada$$, J. Cole, and Tech N9ne speak on how lonely life in the music biz can be and there's probably dozens of other artists that feel the same way. Something I don't understand is why he doesn't try reaching out to someone trustworthy and reliable like Dizzy Wright or maybe his homie he's had since age 12. I've had dark thoughts similar to his so I understand how oppressing the feeling of loneliness can be. Speaking from personal experience, finding someone you can talk to is key to getting better. Repressing instead of expressing only leads to oppression. That's why writing raps feels so good but sometimes it just isn't enough.

I don't know Marcus personally but I understand what he's saying about no one caring about him until they find out he's famous. I've never felt like I fit in at Highschool but I'm sure the moment I would get famous for something that would be the only thing people would care about. If you're a big fan of someone famous and get lucky enough to actually meet them you should separate them from their money and fame and see them for who they really are instead of just trying to be cool with them so you can brag to your friends or leech money.

Sad to feel alone like Hop does. I think a lot of us to who listen to hop have probably been through that same feeling of being alone in the world in how we think. It's one of the reasons I started listening to him in the first place. When an artist can you give you chills because they say LITERALLY everything you have said, and preach everything you have preached. You just have to give the man a salute, because he's getting our message across.
@amaxwiththefacts9 жыл бұрын
Damn. Everything Hopsin was talking about is something I have been going through almost throughout my life. Being misunderstood, loneliness, depression. It happens to most of us who are artistically creative and a genius to their craft, but no one understands it. Keep going Hopsin! Hip hop needs ya, for reals! @DecoReilly139 жыл бұрын
+Paradox Planet i legit thought about that right before i read this comment.
@magic8ballproductions4428 жыл бұрын
+Paradox Planet I think this applies to any celebrity singer or rapper. I mean, when you look at some of the musicians today who have some kind of alter ego (ex: Marshal Mathers and his nick name 'slim shady') we only see that alter egos personality. We don't see what kind of emotions the person behind it might be feeling. We don't see all the shit they deal with in their personal life. We see them as crazy, wild, cool people and we often think that that's how they really are. I used to think Eminem was some kind insane party animal when I heard his songs 'kill you' and 'will the real slim shady please stand up?' but when I heard some of his songs like "problem child" and seen all the stuff he had deal with growing up (I went through some of the same stuff myself) I began to think "wow, he actually had a shit life as a kid" and then all the stuff involving his babies momma and shit came around and I saw him less as a big time rapper and more as a human. Same with hop. He might be this big shot rapper and what have you, but he's still a human and he still has human issues and emotions.
@th3gamer2128 жыл бұрын
+Micheal Badeaux i cant click read more but i mean half the time now a days thats usually how these "rappers" are like eminem thats him hes eminem but slim shady was his crazy side that you know drank or did drugs and shit but marshall is like him, its not crazy its idgaf and if you piss me off ill tell you but i wont do much about it but shady will and eminem hes just in the middle. we know how he is cause hes made songs like mockingbird, stan, hailies song, or like when im gone to show him and i think if he didnt show his real like HIM IN WHOLE he wouldnt be known as the best if not one of the best artists whos ever lived. one line in hailies song is something like no its "8 mile" he says "and i try, i sit alone and i cry, yo i wont tell no lie." he shows he has feelings and shit too like hes not some fuckin party boy who doesnt care. he made songs like lose yourself and rabbit run and shit like if i had or 97' bonnie and clyde for a reason. lol. idfk nvm.

I hope he is seeing better days and builds more meaningful friendships with people that actually care about him. A weird way that I can sort of relate to Fort Collins was back in High School when I went to a friends parties and I was going through this weird phase in my life where I felt like I knew nobody and that people would only like me if I was doing drugs with them. I once left a party quietly and I felt a lot more at peace, but the only people that cared when I was missing were my cousin and my brother because they're really close to me than anyone. I'm glad that Marcus made it up to Fort Collins with the shows and the song. We would all love to know him on a personal level, but understand that famous people just don't befriend their fans easily because of trust issues.

I really like these interviews because I feel like hop is genuine and open in these. On his interview on Hot 97 I felt like he was uncomfortable, and I think it has a lot to do with who is interviewing him and the environment. Dude just needs someone to relate to and vibe with in real time. Just to kick it and see him as more than his rapping career. It definitely would be hard to trust these people. He needs a couple homies to kick it with and should lay low for a year. Do shows and stuff, keep writing yeah.. but lay low, skate, enjoy himself and whoever he can have around him who's down to Earth. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to him regardless of their position, it's hard to fit in with people who are mostly a mould of what they seem to think is cool. And the sad thing is, people rarely reach out.. even if they want to. Genuine people are hard to come by, you know?
