Great aesthetic to these videos since you actually look like a 1980s TV star. As for the VLX itself, I always wanted one of these but they're expensive and they came out too late last gen to seriously pick one up. I then wanted the PS4 stick, but I'm not a fan of the Hori stick and buttons. I have the Hori RAP.N, and I find the buttons too mushy and sensitive, and the stick too loose. At $400, you kind of want the stick to be right (Sanwa or Seimtsu) out of the box, you don't to have to spend extra mod it. That said, it's been two generations of consoles that I've been pining for these sticks, so of they release a new edition for PS5, I'm just gonna take the plunge and buy it. Great video, man!

Was testing out the idea of combining 2 vlx to make a 2 player. It is easy to dissemble, recently bent the pins of the touch panel so I had to replace the ribbon, so I took it all apart.

Love these vewlix sticks. I have the two PS4 versions. Would love to see a Hori fighting edge yaiba PS4 review/mod if you have that stick. Thinking about getting one and using a Dremel to install a ufb and retro board.

Whenever you put the EZ Mod in your PS3 VLX, did you run into anything where you have to install it differently vs doing it on the PS4, ie different pinouts? I wanted to install it on a 360 VLX but wasn't sure if it would be compatible with it.

I have the vlx kuro black and i mod the button with sanwa microswitch : the same feeling like sanwa and the kuro style.

hopefully hori will be making these bad boys for the ps5 and xbox series x then i can try and get my hands on one (or maybe two hehe)

0:50 It's close enough to a Vewlix to be sturdy with similar looks and gives an authentic feeling but a real Vewlix cabinet panel has all different construction that's much sturdier and higher quality. They don't share any parts with each other. Still for a controller it's Vewlix enough. If they had sold the actual Vewlix panel as a controller the price would have been 1800-2200$ or a shortened version but with authentic build for like 1400$. If i remember right a real Vewlix replacement panel unit sells for around 2400$.

Only negative I'd say is that they're not so great for playing on your lap (without the wooden board you can mount to the base). I don't think that EZ Mod came out for the 360 stick, did it? Still hoping to mod mine with a UFB.

Great video. I'm new to Hori sticks and recently bought the Hori Fighting Stick HPS-07 (SLPH-00002) on ebay. I own a PS2 and my goal was to use this stick for everyday gaming (fighting and regular games). After testing, it does not work on a PS2 console and PS2 game that requires dual shock. I still want to find an arcade stick with individual turbo for each button as an everyday PS2 stick that will work on all games to include dual shock. I also don't want to buy a newer stick and the need to buy a converter. Do you know if the Hori Real Arcade Pro 1 or 2 will meet these requirements? Thank you.

Anybody else notice the black ps4 stick's metal panel being slightly mis-aligned with the plastic on the front? I've had a couple and they were always mis-aligned. No issues with the ps3 version.

Is it worth getting the vlx diamond for 450usd, or is the more recent vlx Hayabusa more worth it at a price of 250USD? Asking for a friend whose buying online. Both controllers are used copies in good condition.

How did you put the EZ mod to a 360 VLX, because I was just told the EZ mod only works on the PS4 versions.

I would leave the chrome, kuro, sanwa and hayabusa parts just the way they are and swap out the ball-tops for bat-tops and swap out the square restrictor plates for octagonal ones.

Big, heavy, fancy. I don't know if it's necessary to pay 2 times more for the body. RAP 4 Kai uses the same joystick and buttons. Yes, light and plastic, feel cheap. By the way, 4 Kai's lever is a little farther from buttons, isn't it?

I used to own the PS3 one. I liked playing on it but personally I didn't think it was the best stick I ever played on, I would have liked more room for your wrists to lay flat, I have bigger hands and I don't like resting it on that slope. The weight can also definitely be an issue, I didn't like playing this on my lap, and carrying it to a tournament or casual session is a huge nuisance vs other controllers unless you liked the stick that much and had a gym bag or something.
