Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing video game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. A sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn, it features an open world in a post-apocalyptic western United States. Players must travel and complete missions with survival skills and both melee and long-distance weapons in a world overrun by hostile machines creatures, other survivors and a deadly plague.

I do not think that is fair to say. Sure, I would agree it does not suit her personally and does not bring out her best features, but that is not even an uncommon hairstyle even before the 2000's, and it seems like it is styled that way to make room for that head dreas. Now I do not like post-modern third wave feminism, but I do not think that every time I see a female lead, cast, or quirky character with short hair like Alva. Do I think there was a heavy influence of it in the story? Yes, there are a lot of female characters in positions of authority and importance, but you also have many male characters in positions of importance and authority that contradict and talk back to Aloy when she gets things wrong. Do I think developer biases leaked into the story? Yes. Has it destroyed or ruined the story or characters? No. The Devs definately honour the world they created. So do not disrespect it like this when there is so much dissonance in the entire game that says they care about the story and game a lot more than their politics.

@@billmaster1157 nothing against Aloy at all. She is an established character. This one however reminds me too much of overused trope of scientist females being overly excited and whimsical over their field and act all happy and weird. I don't think it is a good representation of female scientists at all and it certainly does not represent the seriousness of the situation in game. If you need examples from other games: Toddy Whiskers from WoW, Venture from OW, Belara in new Dragon Age, Nico from DMC 5... just to name a fiew.
