Mocap was definitely prioritized in this game. thank goodness they toned down the original’s strange diction. Conversations feel human instead of written by AI.

I love the way they did the tutorial... The player learns not that some one else is showing them what to to do. The PC is giving an NPC guidance to lean how to use... First time I see that... That's so smart! Greatl LP MK. Thanks for that!

I'm not sure what *you* saw, but *I* saw a 2-hour opening consisting almost entirely of very forced, immersion-breaking, expository dialogue. A Nintendo tutorial it was not.

@@Ferrilsblood I suppose. I'm almost finished watching this playthrough though, and I can't figure out who the game was designed for, intelligence-wise. On the one hand, the lore dumps and much of the dialogue between characters uses more advanced English, which requires someone with a higher level education to fully follow (I've heard tell that many kids from the current generation are effectively illiterate. I could be (and hope I am) wrong though). On the other hand, the devs set up the game to drag the player's focus towards the next main thing with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer. I can't tell if the devs thought their audience was going to be stupid or not. I'd be scared to watch videos of the test groups.

@@purplecowadoom I can't say anything about that either honestly. and i've just started watching this... But let me tell about a personal experience of mine when it comes to advanced language and video games. English is my second language. When i was younger and still learning i came across the legacy of kain series. Namely Soul Reaver 2. The english in the game is not so much advanced as it is old english. More poetic and sophisticated. I did not understand half the shit it told me at the time, but it did encourage me to look it up in dictionaries and other books... and that was mainly because i was super invested in the story and old english was very pleasing to my young ear. Then i watched the other games of its like and it helped me enrich my language skills further. This really helped me with learning to love the language when I hit its most annoying stages (grammar XD) Maybe kids need this kind of push and exposure in order to have their passion ignited?

A few years ago, you took me on an adventure with Aloy which brightened very dark days of my life. Now I'm in a much better place but happy to be back here to enjoy the sequel. Well put! What I love about this video is that I don't have to buy a Playstation or do anything. It's just me, my old CRT TV and my Roku ultra. 📺👀 Update and rants. - 1 hour in and the gameplay is the same. Kill the machine lizard, loot that would magically turned into universal item, explore and repeat. - The main female character sounds like she's out of breath the whole time as she talk. The supporting actor sounds really clear. The narrator at the beginning should voice the main character. His voice is amazing. It's like 3d voice. Suggestion: the main character should learn and hack those machine lizard to create her own army. Nope. She rather choose to genocide them all, just like Christopher Columbus did to the native American Indians 😅

On a homegrown engine too. Truly quite amazing what Guerilla did there. They gave it to Sony to analyze and use it in other games as a way to thank them. They used it for Death Stranding.

This game aesthetics and animations are a massive improvement over the original. Though it doesn’t seem they improved combat in any significant way. Excited to see what else this game has to offer.

Soyny sadly doesnt target real gamers, but mostly casual trash that only cares about graphics and "realism".. The combat in the first was surprisingly fun but it needed lots of improvements which clearly never took place

@@chiefhooligan4563 So many of these critically acclaimed games like Horizon and Witcher 3 have a similar problem: they prioritize raw gameplay less than they do the polish and what they think Papa Sony will approve of with their "pretty, single-player story game" erection. I sit through these games and think back to when my collection had visible pixels but I was having a blast every moment of gameplay. I do not understand how you people sit through what are basically glorified movies with tedious tasks, and only a sliver of the fun gameplay (that games 20 years ago were delivering consistently.)

@@cheatswiz58 you guys do know they still make video games with in depth combat. The last of us 2/Monster Hunter World/ dark souls trilogy and remake /Sekiro all these games have in depth and difficult combat with great systems. You guys aren’t looking in the right places clearly.

I played Zero Down on the PC and I loved the story and the whole gameplay. I'd be so eager to play this if it comes to PC any time soon. This looks like a fantastic world to explore and new things to see. I liked how they sticked to the old UI & HUD and just updating a few elements, instead of creating a whole new one. Makes you realize they took care of what's really important: the game itself.

Anyone noticed that the phrase "mysterious signal" was in all caps in the recap before the title screen? Kinda reminds me of the opening crawl of the original "Star Wars" where certain words were capitalized for emphasis.

ive only watcht vids of these two games and i wished the lighting in this was more real i guess,its bright in areas where youd think it would be more darker based on the lighting

What annoys me about this game is that Aloy explains EVERYTHING you have to do like: ”I need to sneak up on it to take it out with my spear, can’t let it see me” ”i should scan it first, check its patrol path” ”Got to get closer. And stay out of sight” ”I can throw a rock to distract it. Get into a position where I can sneak up and strike” ”Just have to wait for the right moment” all lines in the same scene… Wanna hold my hand and tell me im a good boy aswell? Like wtf, there is no point in it. So cringeworthy. Or are people actually that dumb, that this has to be implemented? I really don’t get it.

People are that dumb. If it's not told to people, they often forget or just don't do it. Then hours later into the game, find out they can do it and wonder why they weren't told. It is a lot early on though.

I would rather have it as text as short tips, than the character telling me it all the time. I watched the teaser gameplay and she was still doing it. So i don’t think its early on only. To each their own, but im not digging it, puts me off playing it which is a shame.

A really well made game. Bought this game on PS4 . Since well a PS5 is still not findable. And I gotta say it still looks good on PS4. Not to the extent of a PS5 but decent. I'm here after I finished the game 3 weeks ago.
