The best method is to go to the early hunting ground (where you kill grazers with the logs etc.) kill as many as possible each time and then shoot the blaze canisters off the dead bodys using harvest arrows. Sell the cannisters to a merchant and you can make thousands of shards consistantly.

Not sure if this was patched, I am on PC and only get 1 or 2 blocks a run, however, the mods in this farm run makes it worth it. So TU to OP.

Advice: If you have enough invest in a shadow Hunter bow and use hardpoint arrows since their weakness is armor pen or whatevs

You can actually get an item that allows for infinite travels from one of the merchants in Meridian. The items needed to buy it were not even that hard to get.

this was posted a long time ago so they probably didn't know then the hammer and steel glitch is right now as of 2021 is the most popular for not just shards but mod farming as well. the other one is thunderjaw farming if you set the difficulty on easy you just fast travel back and forth to the campfire next to it. this specific thunderjaw is the one you passes by on your first trip to meridian. the other farming trick for me is the one on hunter grounds with a lot of grazers. you can kill a lot of these in a few secs by lighting up a few blazers on them and have a chain reaction of explosion to kill the rest. it may sacrifice a few blazes but the fast kill is worth it. you farm the rest of the blaze on their corpses by harvest arrow . 6 x 4 nets you 24 blazes per grazer as opposed to just searching it right away you'd get only 4.

This works great. With a shadow sharp shot with handling, damage and tear mods over 45% they drop very quickly. I am using the golden fast travel pack so I can sell also sell the fast travels that are in some of the scavenger light boxes. I have also gotten a lot of very rare mods out of the scrapper resource heap which helped me trick out my weapons and outfits. I am actually averaging less than two arrows per scavenger kill as I have strong strike with the spear so I melee kill a few. Also it is funny but if you leave one dead scrapper out for bait you can get a couple extra scrappers each trip. I leave out out when I am hunting live game for bait. It is actually the mods that force me to head to meridan not the processed metal blocks. I am only keeping very rare mods now and I like to sell the ones I don't need while I am in Meridian. Between selling the scrapper eyes and hearts, the mods, and trading the processed metal blocks for the scavenger light boxes I am averaging over 42 shards per box. It has been easy for me to get 2000 in less than 20 minutes, because I take a little more time once the area is free of hostiles I hunt / harvest all the boar, rabbit, squirrel and rat in the area before I leave. I have tried the hunting grounds and for me this method is much faster with less material usage as I don't have to invest in Harvest arrows to remove the blaze canisters and I can kill with the spear. I am making over two times the shards I made at the hunting grounds. The hunting grounds may be good to get access to better weapons, but I don't know what could be much better than a tricked out shadow sharp shot with precision or hardpoint arrows. This farming method is the best I have tried so far. Kudos to whomever discovered it first.

Good, but i think farming thunderjaw is still the best. Loot all the way. And sell useless mods and some loots. 500-1000shards, and the thing is you can farm and hunt mods that has better stats

There is only 3 that spawn in each time i get a mount so it's faster I silent kill them it's easier and I don't have to use my amo there is always 2 by the river you can easily silent kill them one after another behind a bush you can easily sneak behind them to make it way easier and faster

Dec 11 2022 update: seems as though only 1-3 will drop at a time and it isnt the same treasure box as before. The only thing I got was bones and fat, ect. Still good for mods but not for shards.

Also may i add. Harvest arrows are your besties

It looks like this was patched . 2 or 3 blocks tops at a time. The bonus is purple mods. Still an ok farm.

One rule only. Use stealth kill. dont use arrow. you will have a lot of money in no time. Trust me. and sell parts that you dont use.

This is actually not the fastest way. It's the easiest way. The fastest way involves two thunderclaws. The fastest exploit involves an errand called Hammer and Steel. The most profitable is the third one, Hammer and Steel, where the convoy becomes re-lootable if the quest never ends, but the machines remain destroyed. Best mods, too. AND blocks.

I think its patched, i only got 9 blocks from 3 raids, and in those boxes where 0 shards, (yes ofc Some usefull stuff bit no shards)

Or just override them and let them do the legwork for you.

I guess it's patched they don't give you as much boxes but you can get a lot of modifications you can sell that shit everything you get from doing this just not the blocks and you sell you might make like a thousand if you get 50 of them and then when you get 50 of them you just cash them in and hope that you get more money so no it doesn't really work anymore but it gives you purple modification every single time you go up to that place so I don't know if that's a good thing if there's a certain places where you can go to get modifications that are better than the ones they give you the X I haven't got the best but not the worst but no it doesn't work as well as it used to but it's still kind of works what I do is I go to that place not back travel to where the other Scrappers are where the seller is and I keep doing those two over and over again while selling things Ultra hard is really hard

HIGHLY exaggerated.... It is a viable farming method but nowhere close to this fast. Im playing on ultra hard with a stealth build and all scavenger/stealth skills unlocked. I literally run on them and I kill these machines 2 times faster than this video and I don't waste shards for arrows since spear is free damage. But the income is still below 1000 shards in 10 minutes. You should do it? Damn straight you should. It's better than anything else. But don't expect 2k shards in 10 minutes. The back and forth alone is going to take as much
