臨近開戰先被徵召,同一早受接過訓練再被徵召兩者比較,前者更令為人父母嘅擔心

雖然唔想被徵召,但非常同意你的睇法,我情願個仔受過訓練,好過咩都唔識就被人拉上戰場

I think this military services maybe just a talk. As UK government keep changing. After Rishi, someone may again make some new policy, so no meed to take too serious
If it is national service then it should be compulsory for the sake of fairness. It is the duty of every young men and women to defend their country in the event of necessity. As to whether this policy is connected with the forthcoming election is only a suggestion by some commentators. There is no evidence that this is the case at the moment.
I think we have to put aside the politics in the discussion of this policy and try look at it on its merits. Military training can cultivate the skills of discipline, self reliance and endurance all of which are essential for young men and women on the threshold of an adult life to acquire. As for community services, they can cultivate a sense of duty to the society. This again is important for young people to acquire in order to strengthen their sense of empathy to people and the feeling of belonging to a community. I notice recently there are changes in two controversial government policies: no sex education for children ages 9 and under, and no unisex toilets. So the above policy should be seen in the same light as these two - all good governing policies.

putting politics aside this plan should not be revealed after sunak dissolved the parliament for general election

If so, would you argue that the sex education and unisex toilet policies should not be implemented until after the general election? When I walked past the children library a few days ago, I noticed there were no children sex education books on the shelf where they used to be displayed. Should the librarians to put them back until after the general election.

thoes are being put inplace before the election which i do agree and welcome but the national service is different, it is merely a propaganda to try and alter election results rather than a practical plan ready to be implemented

@@Zonjaicompletely agree, these are just Sunak’s last minute propaganda efforts to gain votes, but I think it’ll be quite unpopular amongst young ppl, so the strategy may backfire. Lots of young ppl might end up voting for Labour instead
