If you don’t know Dr. Corinne Menn, it’s time you do! Dr. Menn is our medical advisor and a prescribing physician here at Alloy. She’s a board-certified OBGYN with over 20 years of experience and certified menopause practitioner with the Menopause Society. She has dedicated her medical practice to focusing on menopause management, the unique health care needs of female cancer survivors, and those at high risk for breast cancer.
Dr. Menn is also an over 20-year survivor of breast cancer and premature menopause, using her personal experience as a patient along with her professional training to help women navigate their own health challenges.
She is a dedicated advocate and volunteer for the Young Survival Coalition, serving on their Council of Advisors for Patient Education and leading their Provider-Survivor Support Group. She also serves on the Breast Cancer Alliance Research Grant Committee and through her work with YSC and the BCA helps raise awareness on managing collateral damages of breast cancer treatment and premature menopause.

Thank you for saying an iud plus oral progesterone can be used together. I’d love to hear the horror stories of IUds addressed, as this is what holds me (and maybe others) back. Is suddenly developing panic and anxiety when waking at night a thing in peri? It’s not fun! Also, can a vaginal ring and iud both be used?

Oral estrogen causes insulin resistance. The insulin resistance causes weight gain. Transdermal patch does not cause insulin resistance.

What on earth are you talking about oral estrogen causes insulin resistance?

Do not recommend synthetic progesterone. Big Pharma’s “Progestins” are toxic and caused blood clots and strokes and are cancer causing. Progestin’s are a bastardized version of human progesterone, but not an exact copy (google progestin/provera chemical structure along with human progesterone and see for yourself the difference). This difference means Progestin/Provera cannot be processed and excreted by a human liver, and provera cannot morph into other human hormones the way natural human progesterone can to keep the body’s intricate hormone balance. Use only bio-identical human hormones if you are doing hormone supplementation. Don’t use Premarin either- it’s made from Pregnant Mare Urine.
