6.5 prc seems good. But there many cartriges that will do thr same thing on game

@@Mike-xi4zt Absolutely. My 300WM will do the same, but it'll be more than 2X the recoil of 6.5.

No problem noted visual references of large trees etc.and the drainage it's in.

Actually I was impressed with the short run be for it started bulldozing. From all the video Ive watched, elk usually take off pretty good after a center mass hit no matter what you hit them with. The insta-drops are usually destroying the spine with either bullet fragments or a shock wave if it’s close enough to the spine. The problem with that is that the back strap is damaged.

100% true A 6.5 is NOT for Elk PERIOD Especially at that distance. People need to have a little more RESPECT for the Elk.

@@DROPTINE I did my AR 10 in the 6.5-284 Norma. I used this 6.5--284 on a Yukon moose in Alaska. That freaking moose wasn't any further than 50 yards when it stepped out of the brush in front of me. I put the first Norma 156 grain Oryx bullet into the lungs, that made no affect except the moose wanted a stare down with me. I put another bullet in the lungs and seeing steam blowing from the bullet holes and blood gushing I thought this is game over. waiting another seems like 5 minuets and the moose is still just looking at me. I put another bullet in the heart and again not much more than a hunch up then the bull went back to looking at me. Then the moose decides he has had enough then starts to run for the meadow causing me to put a bullet to back of the head dripping the bull. When skinning and cutting the moose up every bullet was a vital organ shot. After that I said not again with the 6.5 - 284 on Moose or other big game. Back to the 7 mm Rem mag - 300 Wby mag and the 338 win mag

@@DROPTINE that elk dropped faster than mine that I shot with a 300 win mag. 6.5 prc/Grendel/creedmoor is enough for elk. People use a 300 win mag just to spine it you don’t need a big ass bullet if you know how to shoot lol

Well said, accuracy over caliber. The 6.5 PCR has enough energy at that range if the bullet expands properly. If he hit in the heart /lungs and it ran for miles or didn't die in a reasonable amount of time...then you have an issue with the caliber in my opinion.

@@scivinssoccer Bullet calibers starting from 338 and up will always kill faster than a small caliber bullet. This explains why the 35 Remington 358 win - 35 Wheelen - 9.3x62 Mauser have such a well-respected reputation for sure kills on big game when the cartridges aren't in the range of large magnums.
