As someone back to the hobby after a 20 plus year away, brought back by the TT120 range. Mainly because it allows me to have a layout without sacrificing my LEGO hobby. I really enjoyed my first Live stream of the range being released. Thanks to everyone at Hornby for their envolvement. Being a tech guy I really wanted to start with DCC and was getting overwhelmed by the information and cost. The announcement about the HM7000 makes me very happy. A simple soloution that I can't wait to try out on my Scotsman Set, which I got for Christmas. One again thanks to Mike, Montana, Simon and everyone else involved. 😉

@@ModelTrainOutsider they're not really milking the sitation. Like at all. This is still, even with all the prices going up, not a cash cow of a business. But certain youtubers are milking it for their own advantage by essentially talking it up as other issues. kinda proud of him for finally coming out and giving a good talk on this. You can probably tell just how engrained the attitudes certain youtubers perpetuate have become in the fact that I have unironically been accused of being paid by simon kohler to speak ill of said youtubers. 🤔let that sink in... that's the level of weird conditioned behaviour youtube will put into some people. That they'll imagine a little account being critical is paid by a multi million pound listed company to have a go at a youtuber rather than just say it themselves.

Thank You very much for the opening statement offering clarity on the current production situation. A catch up year is what is needed, so well done for that. I have to say there are a few things that caught my eye that I'm going to have to see if I can afford. The HM7000 seems very interesting, I have Beaglington-On-Sea wired for with DC or DCC control and so I will have to look into the application of the HMDCC system. Also loving the new Beatles stuff as a big fab four fan myself. Hopefully I'll have the funds to pick up at least a few things to show on The Beaglington Review. Happy New Year!

Loving the announcement of the streamlined B17, always thought they were rather interesting. Though I do wish we could get an RTR Claud Hamilton and B12's/S69's in their earlier Great Eastern Railway conditions, very elegant locomotives that could easily be made in model form using the D16 and B12 chassis. Either way, thank you very much Simon and Montana for announcing a very interesting addition to the Hornby catalogue!

With regard to the HM7000 sound files and the decoders being blank and re-recordable. Hornby could produce sounds for locomotives they don't produce, but made by other manufacturers. I would imagine that could be quite a money spinner. Just a thought. 🤔

Hello everyone at Hornby Model Railway's. My question for you is, could there be any chance that Hornby will ever make the PACER class 142 model again? I'm a big fan of the PACER units myself and and really miss them all, I have a few of the original models which were made back in the 80's and 90's. Which I'll be treasuring for the rest of my life. But it would be nice maybe you could maybe bring out say a class 143 or class 144 sometime in the future? Anyway hope to hear back from you soon. All the best from. Devon Mike 🚂

Firstly I want to praise the opening statement discussing the delays and production difficulties. This openness, transparency and good communication to modellers and model shops is what we want. In my experience people tend to be more understanding of problems if they know what the issue is and when it's caused by circumstances outside your control. Please keep this up😀. Having a catch up year seems sensible in the circumstances. My Higlights😀: - The HM7000 control system, I've been wondering why in this wireless age DCC still requires so much wiring which creates so much work and clutter. Any chance of a demostration/tuition on the KZfaq channel please? Also I'd like to know whether this can be used for accessories such as points, signals, lights, etc? If not are any plans to include this in the future? - The streamlined B17s are my favourite of the locos. The J36 is a nice re-release of an excellent little model in an interesting livery. Little things🙂: Interesting to see which locos have been upgraded to 21 pin DCC sockets* . The new 85th Anniversary Mallard being one model that's been upgraded with this, plus firebox flicker and the new tender-to-loco connection. Nice. Seems a bit odd though that none of the Dublo A4s have had the same treatment. I'm guessing they were too far along in development and just missed out, which is a shame.😐 Will next years Dublo models have the upgrades? *See the specs on Hornby's site to see which locos are 21 pin or still 8pin DCC. Negatives/oddities☹: - Why aren't the pug, 4F and 2P aren't in the railroad range as they're all extremely old, basic, toolings? A bit expensive for what they are, though the liveries are nice. - The 8Fs are massively over priced. Should be half that at most for again a pretty basic model. Not sure how it can be priced the same as the 9F's which in comparison have brand new high detail tooling, diecast boilers, flickering firebox and 21 pin DCC sockets. - The LMS Fowler 4P also seems a bit over priced for an old tooling model with no upgrades, though it's not a bad model and a lovely livery. - Why is the A3 'Harvester' £34 more than the A1 'Hermit'? The specs look the same, so why the price difference? Weird. Overall there are plenty of positives in the announcement, with just a couple of minor criticisms as far as I'm concerned. From a quick chat with Simon at Warley I also understand the robust, well padded packaging for the 9Fs will be the norm now, which is another good thing.🙂

Interesting HM7000 concept except i do not use a smart phone or tablet, What pleased me most however was the admittance of production delays that have occurred over the last few years and a company and executive not only admitting it but taking steps to catch up by taking a year out. WELL DONE!! Certainly the Beatles wagons will be of interest to supplement the Singles Train Pack that was delivered just before Christmas, and i have already ordered my 'Hornby Bundle' of catalogue for 2023 and Magazine, so can browse at my leisure, maybe, i am rebuilding a layout at the moment!! .

Must admit, seeing the streamlined B17/5 being announced was a surprise- a nice one, sure, but a little odd that a subtype of only two locomotives would be represented; though with those having been so, maybe we might get some of the other 'lesser light' workhorse 4-6-0's of the LNER at some time- I've long been holding hope for an ex-NER Raven S3, aka the LNER B16/1 for one example.

I think this is a great offering considering the economic climate. Now is not the time to expand so your comments are very understandable as we all want Hornby to be the back bone of the hobby for many years to come. Some fantastic models. Something for everyone here. The small tank wagons are needed badly. The 9F for those who have the Connset iron ore wagons from KMS models is a great idea. I would have done a class 08 in B.R. blue with tops numbering. Please could you do another run of this fantastic model. The 8f is also a great model to redo in B.R. late crest. For me the class 56 Cardiff Rod Mill is a must have along with the complete set of HST in the B.R. blue scheme. The class 56 in B.R. blue you did this last year was fantastic. I bought eight of them what a great model. Thank you Hornby you do some great stuff hence your are the leader in the hobby. 👍👍👍👍👍

I'm interested in the J36 and tyne dock 9f, the LT sentinel and GBRf 08, the B17/5s, Dominion of Canada and maybe 1472 Scotsman. TTA tankers I might get some, and a Bolster B and Macaw C. Which could give the option of top feed fitted or not and auto coach fitted or not. The Hattons 1400 were good but not great.

Good job Simon. First of all addressing the supply chain issues and taking the smart approach of trying to catch up. Secondly explaining HM/DCC. How many takes did that require?😊

I would have more sympathy for Hornby's production woes (which have affected me too), but for the fact they disrupted their plans to launch spoilers for Dapol's Terrier, Hatton's Genesis coaches and Rapido's Lion train set. Then they complain their own products have been delayed by Covid... No, they made commercial choices and were quite happy to send their loyal customers with pre-orders to the back of the queue.

How come on the TV documentary you never talk about Corgi Toys? I sent three emails to Corgi regarding a model coach that has not been made, and still had no feedback

I understand what Simon is saying, I mean Bachmann how many years before we saw a product 3/4 years maybe more? I think one or two I have on order I think it's nearly 2 years, and its now getting to the point where I will probably have to cancel due to the costs going up, which is disappointing. All the best with the new range.

As suggestion: A Plux22 version of your HM7000 decoder. I you want mainland Europe to adopt the HM7000 system, you need to produce a version of the decoder with a Plux22 plug. A lot of European models have these plugs. Without a Plux22 version, there is not much point in going with the HM7000. I really like the concept of just plugging power to the layout and go Bluetooth, but I won't do it, if I have to keep a DCC system for my Plux22 locos. That kind of misses the point.

You want to sort your 2022, class 56 out please. I was super excited over it and it’s arrived by parcel from the internet, with the motor sounding horrible. After I’d run it in on my circuit layout I put on a heavy load and all it did not vibrate and shake the first wagon wagon off it was coupled to. I sent it back by parcel to were I bought it from on eBay and got most of my money back.

I like the green 4-6-0 streamlined East Anglian steam engine and the tender seems similar to me. It reminds me of Flying Scotsman's tenders from Thomas & Friends "The Great Race" where Flying Scotsman appears in CGI and has his full appearance, but strangely his tenders have six wheels instead of eight wheels!?! But it's not bad, it has giving me an idea for something but I think I rather just make my own Flying Scotsman with his tenders with eight wheels. But it has given me an idea though, the tender was all I need, was thinking of making 2 Flying Scotsman's! with with 8 wheels on his tenders and the other with 6 wheels on his tenders. I don't know if I'll really do it because I like it with eight wheels on his tenders. But it's giving me an idea just incase if I feel like getting it for something.

Hello. Any chance of further enhancements to the HMDC app? I did send a suggestion some months ago both to your marketing department and customer service team but did not receive any sort of reply, not even a "thanks but no thanks" one. I have discussed my idea with a lot of people who agree it is a good idea and Hornby could even add value by selling an existing product with cheap additional components.

Wow, what a vey impressive launch for 2023. Vey interesting, very informative and indeed entertaining. Well done to both Simon and Montana particularly Simon for giving some insight to all the frustrations caused by the situation and circumstances of the last couple of years. Yep, it all gets my vote. A great range and launch foe 2023 and so very professionally executed.. Thank you all at Hornby .

I'm guessing they didn't get a mention because they are not really new and are horrendously over priced for basic Railroad locos based on old tooling.

Bachmann do perfectly good TTA's, there are many other designs of tank wagon (chemicals to whisky) which no-one produce, we need brand new designs not seen before.
