Hi Simon! Well this was educational! I had no idea that this model was DCC ready! It's obviously a lovely model, and if my layout were going to be set any earlier it would definitely be on my wishlist! I'll make do with the MK1 Pullmans though, as they're also rather nice! Cheers, Ian.

Hello Simon, thank you for this informative video. I was unaware of there being two similar versions of the Brighton Belle, just thought there was the 1934 version that was shown on your channel all those months ago. Knowing now that there are two versions I will start looking/bidding for either the 1934, or 1960’s version. I appreciate you taking the time in producing this video. Hi Simon. I think that maybe the only major difference in the bodies will be the decoration. The yellow warning panels be the most obvious. I am pretty sure, in fact I know that the 1934 version never had the warning panels and when you think about it 1934 to 1960 is only twentysix years. And in terms of rolling stock that is no time at all. Just look at more modern stuff like the class 37 or the class 43. Both of these are over forty years old. You have the model close up so you might be able to see more differences than I but if you were to buy the 1934 version you would still be able to run it without any quibbles. Then have a small piece of yellow electrical tape and stick it on the ends to replicate a later version. Anyway a very good and imformative video. Good luck mate.

Hi Simon. I completely forgot to mention the connectors. The Hornby OO version has the same coach connectors and yes they are just as fiddly. Its a good idea but I know that quite a lot of people replace them with better more simple one's. Or they hard wire them and leave them on their layouts in theirs fiddle yards. I csn,t see me doing that in OO gauge. I had an idea of using a connector similar to the Jack on a set of headphones. It only needs to be able to connect positive and negative unless you go for sound. But you can also buy DCC cable which is very fine if you wanted to hard wire your Belle.
