Looks lovely though I can’t bring myself to pay £85 for the DVT, £40 odd for the coaches and £200 for the loco plus another £50 for the sound decoder. I have 2 MK4s and a DVT spare which I may try my hand at re liverying.

Just bought my own rake now, just contemplating getting either a 67 in DB or TfW livery. Prices went down a little on these since they came out. Also the buffet is out now as well.

I do like this one well done. Verry nice on the Detail on this one!!! Nice running and so sad about the Queen I have been watching TV a lot!! Take care from the US :)!!!

at swansea there is a mk4 dvt and a rake of mk4's in Lner livery that tfw havent changed yet

Love the TfW livery and that is a sharp loco and cars. I think my wife and I rode in those when we went from Cardiff to Gloucester and Cardiff to Bangor!

Great video Matt overall looks like a good set when all coupled together and running round the layout, the mk4 DVT looks good and it’s definitely an item I’m going to be looking out for but will be getting it in the swallow colours, the dome on the top is for Wi-Fi, will be good seeing the comparison with your arriva trains wales set

Thats nice 67014 had travelled a lot too even came down to work with Clan Line and the Pullmans so I guess when you get the sound eventually a running session with 67014 and the Pullmans would look great

Very nice looking model , i do think that Hornby could do a deal with the charities that have branded DVT on the WAG train as this would raise much needed revenue and will hornby be bring out a version that is based on the Grand Central Abortive train that was supposed to have run from Blackpool to Euston but never ran and currently the set is stabled in landore awaiting entery into service soon on the manchester to Swansea run

Hi Matt looks a nice set. I've got the LNER versions so the class 91 and dvt. Are you sure that ghe dvt is 8 pin as mine is 21 pin and to get everything running ie light functions correctly I've had to fit the standard bachmann decoder and the cab lights are f5 just for info. Anyway nice video mate atb Andy

The dome on the dvt is to pick up the signal for WiFi, in GNER days the dvt picked it up & then distributed it down the train. The 67 & TOE are missing the extra cables on the cab front & end of the coach that allows the 67 to work with the mk4’s UIC cable push pull cables. The coaches are in a temporary livery for TFW , the DVT’s now carry bodyside vinyls to advertise the Samaritans. TFW buying some additional mk4’s to get the Holyhead-Cardiff sets upto the same no of vehicles as the ex Grand Central sets they purchased for the Manchester - Swansea run which starts in December. There is some rumour that the 67’s are about to be replaced with 68’s Kinematic couplings with a properley sized bar to get the gangways you nyon touch each other / then spring out around bends has been a standard feature on HO continental models since the mid 1980’s , Bachmann first applying it to OO coaches with its mk1’s in 2000. These ‘innovations’ are nothing new , it’s worrying that Hornby who own 4 HO brands where proper couplings etc have been standard items have take so long to introduce it to the OO range. Compare its new Lima ICE hi speed train pack for the continental market & then look at the azuma , UK modellers being short changed at every turn.

Great looking set but I would probably agree those coaches sound the same quality as older MK4 coaches from Hornby.

Matt, £44 for a Hornby coach is "pretty good value for money"! Really? .. That's stupidly expensive for what they are. Surely £25 is more than enough. Take one apart and you''ll see what I mean!

No mate. TfW trains only have two coaches. Not realistic at all.
