This layout appeared at Model Rail Scotland a couple of years ago and was easily the star of the show. I love a bit of seventies grot, and the atmosphere of this layout is incredible. The variety of traffic and the attention to detail is stunning, and I really love the realistic street scenes too. Brilliant stuff.

First time I have seen this layout amazing work its fantastic.

Though not my chosen modelling period this layout has to be one of the best around these days in 4mm scale. Everything about it is right and the trackwork is so realistic that there ar no bumps or wiggles as the stock moves across the points and crossings. The detailing is of the highest order and the weathering is simply superb, It is a real pleasure to watch the trains moving at realistic speeds and all correctly signalled as well which these days is a bonus. In all respects it is a fantastic example of modelling skill.

Very interesting, I quite like the idea of giving trains destinations etc as it gives it more realism.

Incidentally, I love the fact that you describe what all the trains are and where they are going: that adds so much to a running session video.

This is a seriously impressive layout. The description of the trains and where they are going to and from really adds. There is a lovely 'artistic' tonal quality to entire display - how the rolling stock sits perfectly in the scene. If you filmed this in Black and white it would look as real as the real world at the time. Amazing!

It may be a small point, but one thing I really like about this is that trains disappear into tunnels and don't immediately run onto a sharp turn which always ruins the illusion for me

Well, what can one say, a superb layout with superb stock, made even better by the locomotives having proper numbers, although, just to show I was paying attention, I didn't realise that Nimbus was an honorary Sulzer 2! To cap it all a classic beverage container. Roll on part 2.

Fantastic layout - just like crunching a pack of Spangles whilst watching the Sweeney!!! The 74 is my fave and sadly rarely modelled - I used to love seeing these arcing spectacularly through Clapham on long mixed freights or parcels….is it a converted Hornby 71??

Superb layout. The train formations look very authentic for the period, something that a lot of otherwise good layout get wrong. The video playback seems much better than in previous episodes which were very jerky and made them difficult to watch.

A wonderful railway and quite inspirational. Currently building an n scale model based around north London/ Broad street and I have taken a lot of great ideas from your layout so thank you. Pity They don’t do a class 501 kit in n scale. Best regards.

Excellent stuff Kier. I was surprised by the 25 on the Cemflos; was this combination recorded on the prototype? I'm hoping so I can replicate.

I would guess that this layout is a few years work ? As I also notice both Semaphore & Colour light signals seem to be functioning correctly in line with Absolute Block & TCB rules. Where you a BR signalman I wonder ?

I would love to see an overhead view of this magnificent layout!...... Very well done.
