@@1th_to_comment. You should play through it then! It's pretty easy to see its numerous flaws if you're paying attention (see: are there any women that are part of the game's plot for more than a few scenes). And it's also far from a bad game! I just think every other game in the series does this game better and it gets put on an unnecessarily high pedestal comparatively (as evidenced by you thinking this is "objectively" the best one despite not having played any of the games at all).

​@@zekromfuryI'd argue that explorers is no better or worse than the others in that regard. (plus that's an extremely nitpicking reason to say it's worse than the others.) Based on this, your username, & other comments you have left, I think you are just really partial to gen 5, and that's coloring your opinions. (It's probably a safe bet that you are a fan of Gates, and think it's "unfairly hated")

@@GKplus8 1) I think a game barely including women in its plot is actually a pretty big issue lol 2) I can name multiple other issues I have if you'd like! This game has a lot of them! 3) Gates to Infinity is my favorite game of all time, so of course I think it's unfairly hated. Even so, I do still think that some of the criticism it gets is warranted. I completely understand why some were disappointed at the lack of Pokemon in the game, or why they thought the new job system was bad, or the unnecessary gendering to make every character in the game to be straight coded, not to mention the one universal objective sin of its paid DLC, like holy shit the dlc in it sucks. I just think that a lot of the other issues people have with it stem from the fact that it doesn't follow Explorers' formula perfectly, and since people view them as the "definitive" PMD games that subsequently means that Gates is subpar in their eyes. The same thing happened with Super when it came out - people fucking hated the connection orb! But over time opinions on it have warmed up, and the game is viewed pretty positively now. I think it's unfair that Gates wasn't given that same chance. And overall, like I said, PMD games have a lot of issues if you're looking for them - the problem is that that only ever happens to the ones viewed negatively (like Adventure Squad or Gates), and the flaws of the other games go unmentioned. Anyways! Sorry for writing such a long ass response. Also I'm admittedly curious about what other comments I've left that you've seen, I feel like I don't comment all that much!

I do think that every game in the series could do better with that, but like Gates has Virizion, Munna, Espeon, and Swanna interacting heavily with the plot, as well as multiple other women in Post Town, and Super has Espurr and Deerling in the first half and Mawile, Slurpuff, and Jirachi in the second half at least. 2) I can name multiple other issues exclusive to this game if you'd like! There's a lot! 3) You are correct, Gates is my favorite game of all time, so of course I think it's unfairly hated - I do understand the criticisms people have of it, like why they dislike the one job system, lack of Pokemon, and the horrifying dlc (like holy shit it's bad), but I also think that a lot of issues people have with this game stem from the fact that it significantly changes gameplay from Explorers (unlike explorers barely changing the gameplay from rescue team) and it's placed under a lot more scrutiny because it did so directly after explorers in the series (barring adventure squad, which I also think is unfairly hated, but that's an entirely different rant). I also think a lot of them tend to be subjective, like the job system, which I didn't really mind. People hated Super's connection orb initially but have warmed up to it with time; no such love has been shown to Gates. Like I said in the other comment I made, if you're looking for flaws in a game, you'll definitely find them - and PMD is a series filled to the brim with flaws. The only real difference between the general opinion on Gates and Explorers is that people point out Gates' flaws and actively ignore Explorers' flaws while still holding up the other games in the series to the standards of their view on Explorers.
