That's exactly how flip would have wanted that car to go, running for a win and saving your life.

Glad Chris is okay physically after that crash. But emotionally is another thing. Anyone who's watched the El Camino throughout it's racing history in the 405 knows that it's got more meaning then most cars because of Flip. Kamikaze brought that car from a bucket of bolts to serious competition as a top contender. And he did pour his heart and soul, blood,sweat and tears into it. Man that's sad to see it so destroyed. But Chris's life is far more important regardless of the car's demise.

Broke my heart to watch this. Chris has always been the underdog with not having the big financial backing to race. And the El Camino has always been a wild Brumby when it races. But he kept at it. To total your passed mates car like that would be heart breaking to. Glad you’re ok Chris. Hope you pick up the pieces and get back out there.

It’s just stuff. That car is just material. Quit crying because it’s broken. Start smiling because you’re alive and healthy. Healthy to build more stuff.

This is still hard to watch. Chris is such a good dude. He’s one of the hardest working guys on the show and like he said he literally put everything he has into that car.

It's sad to see the car go but we all know that flip was there and that's why Kamikaze Chris is out walking around flip kept him safe and the elco will be back out glad to see you're okay 💯

I’ve lost a car I put all my heart into. It hurts. But it’s how you stand up and move forward that matters. Now you’ll see who your friends are and who was just a hanger on. You may lose more than just a car, but that makes the true friends even more special.

Chris - Bro you earned the nickname Kamikaze for a reason. When we race long enough, we will eventually wreck. Super happy and thankful to the big man up above that kept you safe. I have watched the series since it first aired. I watched how these cars morphed from street-able door slammers into pro-mods. I watched when Chief totaled the original Crow, Monza’s wreck, Daddy Dave, Doc, from the 405 OG’s. Brother, just remember one thing, you didn’t lose your whole life, you lost a very special object in your life, but you didn’t lose your life. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, and you, my friend, are a strong man and a strong competitor. You will come back from this, no doubt in my mind. I have read in the comments that “Flip would have wanted the El-Co to go out this way”. Could it be that this was a message from “Flip”, that it is time to let go and move on, in my remembrance you have honored me with driving the El-Co, but now it is time to show your racer spirit of never lifting and to rise to your full potential?” Or, just maybe, flip got a call out and needs his car in heaven. You got this, put it behind you and start stepping forward, one foot at a time.

It's amazing how emotionally attached one can become to basically a complete stranger because of these in depth documentations. I don't know any of these guys personally but this one hit different.. Hopefully he can find triumph in tragedy, pick himself up and build back better and faster 🙏🏽

First time I brought myself to watch

This hit me right in the feels again. Having watched this show since Flip drove the Elco, this really hurt to watch. Glad Chris was able to walk away from this.

I don't have the luxury to be able to pay for the channel to watch these guys so I wait for people to post these videos. So thanks for sharing.

I crashed my wrx on the track at 21 years old. I poured my heart into that car. Losing financially hurt but the time I put into it was worth more. Worked at a tuning/parts shop so that car was apart of my lifestyle. Full bolt ons, e85 tune, breaks, aro, basically everything. My friends and I all had tuned affordable cars. Took it to shows with them, made it super clean, fixed paint chips, deep detail, replaced interior. It was my baby. Tracking it and then keeping it clean and nice took so many hours. After the crash I scrambled to get to work and was left out of the building conversations bc my car was totaled. One day I’ll get back to it.

He's such a humble guy I'm glad he's OK.
