The idea of treading water in deep ocean, or even being on some type of sea craft over deep ocean scares the living hell out me, always has. That last story was perrrrrfectly terrifying!! Thank you so much!!!

I was in the Navy and was never thrilled about the idea of what could be lurking beneath.....and how if you go in that water, you are completely at the mercy of nature. ALL you're advantages of being human are totally worthless. And yet, I still wanted to be a SEAL. Lol. Ya gotta face your fears if you're really gonna grow as a person.

I had a… not a nightmare, more like an intrusive thought: what if you were on a boat in the ocean and your friends were swimming and playing. You go to jump in the water, but when you leap the water just… moves out of your way. You plummet at nearly terminal velocity to the sea floor and splat on the bottom, a bubble of water held back around you. You remain conscious long enough to feel your body crushed as the strange effect collapses and the weight of the whole ocean slams down on you.

Re-listening to “fire in the valley stove” was a treat. It’s a simple short story that is so well constructed. I love the fabulous and the truly “weird,” but respect for crafting a tight narrative.

The tears of reluctant joy welled up in my eyes, as the unidentifiable creature ungellatated in my direction. I had no escape. It overtook me with vicious intent, and I had no option, yet to be subdued. It enveloped me like a cold, dark cloak of a dark mother's embrace. I found myself at home, for she spoke tales of HorrorBabble, carrying me into a sleep of dread, in which I shall never wake...

I love your work. I turned on KZfaq this morning and was already listening to your reading of "The Call of Cthulhu" bought from Audible when I saw this. I have subscribed and look forward to many miserable, terrifying hours of listening for the Autumn and Winter. Love that this school of horror is more readily available now, I was always considered a weirdo for proselytising about H P Lovecraft and the early~mid 20thC horror writers some thirty years ago but now they are getting the attention and respect they truly deserves. I am still a weirdo though.

I love this channel so,so much. It's PERFECTLY done every time Plus Nautical Horror and Arctic horror are my two favorite subgenres. Thanks so much for the continued excellence. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Oh I'm also a big fan of Christmas Horror (hint, him) If there's any stories involving like Belsnickel or Hans Trapp or, of course, Krampus I'd be eternally grateful.

I'm sorry to knit pick but I'm so glad to hear forecastle pronounced right. Having spent time in the navy, some things just stick with you, ya know? Was I the only one who pointed it out before? Either way, great job as usual Ian.
