That first line had me convinced it was a cycle film. I hate those unless its groundhog day, but i think it was a doppelganger instead. Creeped me out and made me uncomfortable... especially with the daughters window closing and not locking it in the beginning. Very good as always.

I don't know how many films or shorts there will be showing human replacement but this is the third vision I have seen of human replacement... it's like it tells us that tomorrow something will easily replace us

This is so good. I like the tension building up in what looks like one take starting around the minute mark. It goes from the character being calm and looking forward to relaxing then builds to him holding a baseball bat under the assumption something very bad is going on. Then of course the children's story involving seeing your reflection right before falling victim to something dangerous that you didn't even realize was there: it was a great choice for where to start this short. Well done!

Why is her bedroom window practically connected to the front door??? Does he make her sleep in the den??? Most front bedrooms are at the corner of the house, with a window or two between them, not directly by the front door.😂

Spoilers: A lot going on. Is the bizarre bedtime story and the kid casually slapping her dad supposed to imply the replacement is "better?" Or maybe the kid was replaced and the replacement doesn't know how a kid is supposed to act? Hence the "twisted kid" comment, but the rules on the fridge "no...hitting, kicking, fishing, yelling, biting" do suggest she's been a menace for a while. I assume the clip at the end is to confirm this is a widespread event. Weird to have so much packed into four minutes.

The little girl did not hit her father. She clapped her hands in front of her father's face like he did while was telling her the story. The clapping hands supposed to be the crocodile's mouth closing.
