Esther Coleman is broken. She was born with a hormonal disorder to an abusive father, absent mother and was the victim of SA from her father since toddlerhood. She grew to believe that it was her father’s way of showing her love, only up until her late teens when he introduced her to his gf, saying he chose her because Esther will never grow up in reality, causing her to flip out in rage and murder them both. Meanwhile Art is a sadistic evil entity that tortures you for fun. His entire power is that he keeps his victims alive while hes picking them apart limb by limb so they can feel all the pain hes inflicting. Now thats Evil.

Slendermans version varies, he could either be evil or broken. Slendermans original story is the loss of his daughter, and im pretty sure he puts pages up which are drawings that his daughter made. Which is probably why he tries to kill you if you touch them.

Slenderman has no canon and is featless since he's a Creepypasta. It all depends of what version of Slenderman we're talking of. In some stories, he's broken, but in other stories (Such as the Marble Hornets one) he is manipulative and pure evil.

For those who don't know how jigsaw is broken, he lost his wife (I haven't watched saw in a while so it may be a child) but anyway he tried to unalive himself by crashing his car. But he survived, and realized how precious life is, so he made people who didn't appreciate reality or life, fight for their life to make them care. Hope this helps

John Kramer is a broken man, diagnosed with cancer, and lost his child, while it was still in the womb, he tried to kill himself and failed. That failed suicide led him to “appreciate the value of life” which is why we puts people he believes doesn’t, into the traps, so if they survive they learn, if they don’t, we’ll they didn’t appreciate life anyway

I like to have my own fan fiction about art where after her father passed away after a brain tumor, her fathers soul never made it to heaven, because he wanted to stay on earth as a ghost to see sienna and her brother grow up, but he wanted to come back to life and be with them, so he made a deal with the devil that he would come back but he would come back not in human form. The devil warned him , his soul would be cursed forever if he accepted the offer and would become a brainwashed killing machine demon, out of desperation he accepts the offer, so the devil turned him into a demon clown to kill everyone and his soul is stuck like that forever .

Slenderman is broken because he had a loving family and he lived in the forest, and when he came back home once his family was dead and he followed a blood trail and it leaded to his dead wife and he got turned into slenderman by rage sadness and the thing that killed his family 😢
