You take such excellent care of all of your animals, it sets the highest standard! The love and care is beyond comparison! I enjoy all of your videos. I love the pedestal in Macho's stall. Thank you for showing that. I have the same problem with my Shetland pony and am going to find her a nice pedestal so she can also see out. What a great idea! I want to watch video one more time there is so much in it. You mentioned Andorra needing weight. I had this problem with my senior mare. The vet told me to give her Vit E and a general multi vitamin with Vit A in it. I did that and also added some second cut to her hay and over time she has really blossomed out nicely. Many horses are deficient in Vit E and Vit A (especially seniors) and i think this helped my mare and especially adding the second cut hay in with her first cut as a mix. Your horses are on grass all day and fed so well, they probably have no vitamin deficiencies. The other thing you could check her teeth if she needs to have them done. I never noticed Andorra thin so I hope it is not too serious. Also, like you, I give my senior mare hay stretcher mash with warm water and also her grain mixed in and her vitamins. The mash makes it so much easier for her to eat. She can sometimes have an issue with choke once in a while but with her mash, everything goes down nice and easy. The hay stretcher mash has also helped her put on weight and she eats it so well and no problems with choke. I cannot say enough the care you give these horses is beyond compare. I notice the same thing, all my horses want a head rub after their fly masks are removed. Funny, I do the same thing esp with my older mare and give her extra grooming time at night to spend time with her while she eats. I LOVE how you do your night routine. I really enjoyed this video!!!!!

It was very interesting seeing all the different kinds of food you feed and what care you take for the horse’s’ nutritional health! I have a guinea pig named Bailey (color of Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur LOL) and he gets a wide variety of foods too only in miniature...fortified pellets and Timothy hay (kiln dried cedar shavings for bedding) plus snacks of oatmeal/muesli, dried dandelion forage, cantaloupe seeds and fresh fruit and veg different every day...grape, cherry, apple, orange, romaine lettuce, kale, carrot, cucumber, cantaloupe, watermelon, whole ear of corn... and sometimes special guinea pig cookies from The Natural Cavy or BunnyBunBakery! Wow I guess we have a big feeding routine too. Love the way you narrated this video Jesse. The doggies are so sweet.

at our barn we put the buckets (all the same color) in order of the stables! for example we start at one end, and put them in all in the order row. so it’s super easy to keep track of and not confuse!
@obsessedme54844 жыл бұрын
When I worked at a ranch in Cali last sept/oct, the buckets had no names on them, only the food bins. I had to know all the names of the 6 horses I fed and which stall was theirs by heart within the first week to know which bucket went into which stall. What I would do was to put the buckets on top of each other in the right stal order, but mistakes were made lmao. Also, none of them ate the same thing as they were all owned by different people, so I felt kinda bad when I did a few mix ups at the beginning of my job there. But after about 2/3 weeks, I knew preciselty what each of the 18 horses I fed daily ate in the morning and in the evening without even thinking about it! It was so fun and rewarding too (to be clear, there were 6 horses in stalls, 5 in paddocks, 1 I had to get from her pasture to feed everyday, and 6 "oldies" also in a pasture that I fed individually in feeding bags. It was a lot of work lmao!)

Your routine reminds me of when I worked in a ranch in California in september and october last year. These are really good memories, and I especially liked preparing the food for everybody. Really enjoyed the routine and taking care of all of them. Really just like your routine. Except I had 22 horses in box stalls (or stables). I figured out i walked about 12 kms a day as i was doing all the work every day.. Not good and could only do it for 2 1/2 years. However I loved my job and am thankful I had the chance to work with the horse owners and their horses, the vet and the carriers.
