it’s more of it’s own thing, it’s a 6-string bass that uses standard guitar tuning

No, it's literally a six string bass. Just looks and plays more like a guitar.

A baritone is typically tuned to a fourth below a guitar (B standard). A bass is a full octave below a guitar. A bass VI is basically a baritone guitar with thicker strings, tuned lower than a baritone (i.e. a full octave below a 6-string guitar).
