One thing I’m impressed with on my 24’Z06 is the cooling. Driving home on I-75 in Florida can get the temp up to 208 in traffic but as soon as it opens up, it drops 40 degrees to a cool 168 in like 2 minutes! GM learned from the C7 and those 5 radiators really keep the car cool in Florida driving!🇺🇸

I agree. I had this car on the track pushing it pretty hard in 90° weather and the temperatures stayed very cool.

Thats very impressive for a high compression high revving race engine. Theres gotta be a vid out there explaining in technical detail how the cooling system works - even in hot temps. And theres plenty of that here in houston -where its hot n humid. 100⁰+ during the day and high 80⁰s+ at night

@@blackice7408 when the car is moving, the oil temps are routinely below 170. We don’t hit 100 in Tampa, but it’s been warm lately and no issues with temps whatsoever.

AMERICA is doing it right. I've always loved exotics, espcially the italians and german cars. But I knew with how much they costed I could never buy one. But I always had my eyes on the Corvette C7 with its power and looks. But now I can proudly say I'm a proud american and LOVE the Z06 C8!

I have the GT3, and the Z06…I like them both…they are different The Z06 would be my choice for the longer drive…more comfy (actually)…and it’s a convertible…. The Z06 is BIGGER..and you feel it. It feels kinda like a boat. It does sound better….a great care. AND…you can get one My 992 GT3….Porsche did it so well…..it’s such a refined car. It instills confidence when you drive. Feels more nimble, comes in manual (which I have). Doesn’t sound better at start up….but when screaming at 9,000 RPM….the mechanical sign is intoxicating. Plus….good like trying to get one….its hard I love them both….but the GT3 is a better car

I think GM wanted this to be best quality Corvette ever, I’m sure that was a mission statement. Tadge the executive chief engineer, that just retired, made sure of that. I’m pretty sure we did get one of the best quality built Vette ever. Great review from a real owner. Cheers bub

I would "assume" the dealer's charging over MSRP nowadays are few. Even in California it "seems" dealers are getting very close or at MSRP even on the Z06. It still isn't a "can get any day of the week" car, but the days of huge premiums appear to be few. But then again, I haven't actually gone through the process either. We all know how dealers talk one game and change up when bringing out the paperwork.

Correct. On the east coast there are plenty of dealers selling nicely spec’d Z06s for MSRP. And even some lightly used ones selling for under sticker. There’s actually a Facebook group dedicated to tracking and locating under MSRP or lower C8 Z06s.

Have a 24' Stingray & the car is absolutely flawless. It is only 6 mos. w/2200 miles- but I can tell it will remain a problem free auto I traded a 23' Merc C-43 AMG & the Corvette is its build quality equal. Never thought ANYONE could say that .

Man I can’t believe is been a year for you. I had to go back and see when I got mine…..first of April of 2023. Almost 15 months and unfortunately it really has been a “garage queen”. Just 400 miles on it….if it wasn’t a twin to my C7 I think I would probably sell it. It’s not the car at all…it is absolutely amazing.

Back in the 90s when I had my ZR1 in Ft Lauderdale it was the same thing, nobody outside my local independent Chevy dealer knew how to deal with the 32 valve engine. Corvette used to have a competition every year for Corvette mechanics and the winner wins a base model Corvette that generally focused on the most complicated model, ZR-1 C06, find one of those winners. Any good Corvette dealership should be able to do a factory 4 wheel alignment, but after some autocross with a friend who had a similar ZR1 I go to an independent alignment shop with my own set of numbers.

Great Summary Justin! As always the spec and mods are so over the top and unique to HPO. I have noticed on a few of your recent videos that you are no longer using the "X" brace from Speedway Composites. Other than not being able to utilize the Carbon Fiber Rear Strut Covers with the Speedway design is there any other reason you can share?

Not being able to use the carbon fiber strut covers is pretty much the only reason. The Speedway Composites xbrace Has a better performance rating but I just wanted the engine bay to look more carbon fibered out

For your rattle in the door, maybe check the side view mirror? Remove it and reinstall. Anyway nice ride and good luck locating the rattle.

Cross shopping the Stingray with the F-Type and LC 500. Car vs car I think the C8 wins. However I am not sure I can get over the dealership experience compared to the other brands. Trying to see and sit in a C8 has been an unpleasant dealership experience. Forget about test drives. Mean while I have been welcomed to test drive the others. Thanks for your video.

You’re very welcome. GM dealerships do seem to be on the greedy/inexperienced side when it comes to corvettes lately so I understand the hesitation. With that said, I wouldn’t change the car I bought for anything other than a C8 ZR1! 👍👍

Great honest review as a long time Corvette owner I appreciate your honesty. The point you make about Service support, dealer markup and just an overall bad buying experience has just turned me off on GM and the new Vettes and with the C8ZR1 coming expect that to command and huge price tag. So many other really nice cars you can chose form for the price of a Corvette with much better dealership support and overall quality of the product. Cool car but just not that impressed with the value to ownership of the New Corvettes. I'll probably get some hate for my opinion but I have owned 7 over the last 10 years the the best ones I owned was my 17Z06 and my 13ZR1. Now that I am older with a bad back I just roll around in a 24 Raptor R for fun. Great channel keep up the good work.

Good afternoon Justin. That is a great Video. I watched and rewatched. I have a question regarding the blendmount. I have been wanting to purchase one since watching your DIY vlog regarding same. However, there are concerns about the blendmount tapping into the mirror power and causing the driver’s side mirror to crack. Any thoughts?

Hey, I appreciate it! I personally haven't had that issue but from what I've seen it had to do with an improper install. If you install it correctly, you won't have that issue.

Looks great. What is the HP and TQ with the mods that you have done? The rims look great do you like them better than the carbon fiber rims with the Z07 package?

I do like them better than the carbon fiber wheels because fitment is perfect! With the mods on my car the HP is roughly 720 to the crank.

I wanted the enginebay to have more exposed carbon fiber. That’s really the only reason. And I haven’t fully decided which one I’m gonna stick with yet.

My wife has a Caddy XT5 SUV that has the same problem in the left door panel. The dealer has had the panel off 5 times during warranty. i will check it myself one day.

@@HorsePowerObsessed I’m so close, my only issue is it’s size. It feels massive when you sit inside it. Bigger than my 17 Chevy SS I had a few years back. I’m torn between that and just keeping my daily and getting a C7Z and just having the kids take turns out with Dad. Something about that one on one time will be remembered. Tough super first world problems to have! Thank you!

Just a few comments to add to your spectacular review: Looks like a Ferrari more than a Ferrari: Legend has it that Charlie Chaplin himself entered a "Charlie Chaplin Look-a-Like" contest and got THIRD place! Sometimes, what people think they see is not what they actually see. Although I must admit that even I had a little trouble at the beginning distinguishing between a C7 Vette and a Ferrari 812. GM work is mediocre: I live in Miami and I had the very same issue with my C7. You would think that a Miami dealership (we have the #1 Vette dealer in the nation--Bomnin Chevrolet) would have the Vette experts on hand. They don't. One "expert" had trouble figuring out why when it rained it caused a leak inside the driver's side footwell. And every time I went in for service, they treated me like I owned a Chevy Spark! Porsche and Mercedes Benz treated me way better. Squeaks and rattles: I had the same issue with a Porsche Cayman S I owned after I sold my C7. Here is how the Porsche service agents found the rattle. They took off one piece at a time, then drove around to hear if the rattle continued. After removing three or four parts, they found that it was part of the door hinge that caused the squeak. I now drive a Mercedes Benz AMG and the rattling came from the seatbelt (plastic) parts on the door and B pillar.

LOL at approx 2:38, revs the engine and a good-sized puff of black smoke blasts out. Plugs carboned up from chugging the engine along too much. Simple solution: let the engine do what it's meant to do, perform.

The rattle you are hearing in the door panel I believe to be the speaker I have a Z06 just like yours.
