Yeah, I went to school in Decatur, IL and very much remember my first Springfield Horseshoe. You walked down 5 steps to enter a dimly lit bar that served $3 pitchers of Budweiser, a pool table, and a jukebox with actual CDs. 5 songs for $1, and 50 cent pool. Sometimes I miss the midwest.

The absolute best horseshoe in Springfield can’t be bought anymore! It was at the Sportsman’s Lounge on the corner of Mason and Rutledge. The best cheese sauce in town! It was an experience especially back in the day when Heine Dahlkamp greeted you at the door.
