And in the video, they only dance Not even sing for a bit... What else you call it if not backdancers? As akb48 fans it's definitely saddening looking at current situation, but that's the reality... As hololive fans, i see it as a win

Its sad to see the current state of akb48, 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen really is the best gen of akb48, from the poor group who called panty showing idols by people, bullied by friends in school, empty theatre, almost no one come to watch to once the top of japanese idol industry, really such a fascinating part of 60+ years history of japanese idols

I know right.. but now they're become an irreplaceable legends. I mean, nowadays members is good, but for me they kinda not good enough compare to members from gen 1 to gen 9. I didn't mean they were bad or anything, it just feels like they become a generic group idol or something was missing from them..

@@hikaru286 It isn't that their not good enough. The Idol industry is a market. Times have changed and people want different things and AKB48 hasn't evolved with it. Sure their a staple, but there is just cheaper, more accessible, and better tailored to taste content out there now. Japan has always been in this entertainment limbo where they are far behind and far ahead at the same time. AKB48 has just fallen to far behind now with their formula. No one buys into their "growing talents from nothing" image anymore after the advent rising of "indie school idol groups" years ago. The crazy expensive merch, concerts, and 10 seconds of meet and greet isn't worth it. Especially when there is so many other forms of idol content that can be tailored to taste for a fraction of the cost and much higher accessibility. They already lost most of the market in Asian countries from Kpop and net personalities years ago too.
