Damn y’all were super lucky with gate 2 running. When it’s gate 5/7 I can’t reach anywhere close with my 12’. Nice striper though especially for this time of the year

Oh Yea... On a normal day that 8 footer probably would not have worked out 🤣🤣🤣 I know why them guys told me I was crazy for going down there with a 8 footer at Susquehanna Bait & Tackle ✔️ But I think everything that 8 footer and that 4,000 had was putting us right in the sweet spot for gate 2 🤣🤣🤣 If you see us down there, make sure you say hello ! Fished with your partner there that runs the big stradic, great guy! Got my 1st striper there showed up with about same gear 9ft salmon rod and 4000 stradic could barely reach the fish but it worked, good time

what lenght rod do you need for that area

Hey Man, Thanks a million for the comments and support !!! That area is very unique... I was using an eight foot rod with 350 Mitchel... But I got extremely lucky because gates two and three were open. If you're gonna fish that area, I would recommend an eleven to thirteen foot rod... With a super fast real, they can hold a lot of line...!!! Like four hundred yards of braid minimum. You usually need to cast extremely far and reel in very quickly So that you don't get tangled down the line. Contact Susquhana Bait & Tackle... Those guys We'll put you on the right gear . I could never fish with all those people right next to me. That's why I'll never fish the fall run at the canal or Montauk in the daytime ever again. I go at 2am when I have the whole place to myself. I Hate people. Especially inches away from me
