Hot Enough For You? - Avoid Heat Illness and Injury - Safety Training Video

When you combine high temperatures, high humidity and strenuous physical activity, you increase the chances of becoming dehydrated.
Another danger is from rising internal body temperatures, which can become dangerous at 100.4 degrees. As internal temperatures continue to rise, it can lead to heat rash, heat cramps, heat exhaustion or a more serious medical emergency known as heat stroke.
This short safety training video gives a brief education about heat illnesses and injuries, including an important section on how to avoid these common heat-induced dangers.
Anyone with a heart condition, those who are overweight, on certain medications, over 65 years of age, or those with high blood pressure are more susceptible to heat stress.
Watch for signs of dehydration, including fatigue, flushed skin, heat intolerance, dizziness, and dark colored urine. Take a break and cool off. Use cool compresses, headbands, neck bands, wet towels, and drink plenty of proper fluids like water.

What also helps is a mindset that your ego isn't crushed when you walk away when the conditions are unbearable. Sure there are plenty of men who only complain they feel a little dizzy when they are actually about to fall unconscious.

at work i am out in the sun all day i got sunburned on my left side from my ear down to my wrist , my sunburns were bugging me the neck ones and elbow ones i asked my boss that i needed to leave early from work they said ok and i went home well they called and texted me to come back and install a wall air unit , i said no i am treating my sunburns and cooling down but that did not matted they insisted i come in after clocking out and go install this wall unit i said no i am sunburned and am taking care of it . funny how those who work in an air conditioned office all day in the shade not care about those who work outin the heat the rain the snow so that they look good what about the health of your maintenance crew?

Also, when another worker tells you that screwing a ten-pound beam in a ten-foot later is a job for two men listen to him because if one men old the beam and try to screw the beam at the same time it's like playing Russian roulette.

When I get hot, I just go inside and get a drink, cool off and then once I'm not really hot I go back out if I need to.
