But you didn't mention and show the ingredients you used, Some of us are allergic to certain chemicals or materials

This video is more of a travel vlog instead of a traditional tutorial. I respect the instructor for this class, and it just didn't feel right putting his recipe up on KZfaq without permission. But if you type in "African black soap recipe" in the youtube search bar, you'll get a whole bunch of detailed tutorials. I made this soap once, and so I'm not an expert in this at all compared with someone like my excellent teacher. You should consider seeing a medical professional to help with any allergies you are encountering! Hope this helps!

Pls is there caustic soda inside?
@superpowersoap3 ай бұрын
In this recipe, NO. There is no caustic soda. We used potash - a combination of plantain ashes and cocoa pod ashes.

Thank you for sharing this video. What are the measurements for the water, potash and oils for this recipe. I have dried my plantains, pods and leaves and will be making my own potash. I am just not sure of what amounts to use since I'm used to using sodium hydroxide (lye) to make my cold process soap. I don't know how to scale a recipe up or down since I have never used potash before. Thanks!

Hello Senihhines! I don't have an exact recipe to share. I do encourage you to seek out a workshop with an expert such as the Creators Foundation in Ghana (link in the video description). If this is not possible, I suggest making small test batches using a 100% Coconut Oil recipe and experimenting with the potash quantity until you are happy with the results. I have another hot process African Black soap video using lye where the dry potash is added after the cook: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mqlmfdyTy9O9k58.html

It is a good video, but what's the essence of Making the video if people cannot diy for themselves at home. You said you were given lectures on how to do the soap But not given the measurements??? No instructions given during the making. We just have to watch and know what to do?

@@hotwater6803 Hello, and thanks for sharing your point of view, hot Water! Ghana is a beautiful country and this video gives an overview of what the soap making process is like with a master soap maker from there. I made the video because I wanted to share a really cool experience :). My hope is that people see this video and learn something new about soap making in Ghana. Regarding a recipe - type in "african black soap recipe" into the KZfaq search bar. Many BRILLIANT soapmakers have shared DETAILED videos with recipes. Check them out and watch a variety of videos to learn the process that works best for your experience level! I still encourage you to learn soapmaking with locals to support these businesses and the soap making community! Hope this helps and I welcome your views!
