If you are going to drop good money on something, you deserve to get the best figure technology hot toys has to provide currently. I skipped this figure specifically due to the extensive pleather. Also, the ep 3 hand looked sick with this figure. Good Day!

Blogger photos really don’t do this figure justice! Got mine Monday and the headsculpt is phenomenal! I see Hayden 100% in the sculpt. Super happy with it and glad to have it in the collection. ❤️

Im so glad the saber color is more saturated, it looks good without the light which might as well not even be there.

The uneven distribution of light along the full length of the blade may be resolved by creating a frosted or scratched surface on the inside or core of the translucent plastic blade which would run along its entire length in order to capture the light, thus maintaining the intensity of the light all throughout the length of the blade. The concept of light being reflected by microscopic etchings on the inner core of the plastic blade is similar to 3D Crystal photos. Hope Hot Toys would consider this suggestion if they still insist on using removable plastic blades and not ccfl custom led light sabers.

To put it in perspective, a lot of people do just display figures on a regular book shelf where the lighting is much dimmer than a dedicated display cabinet.

This figure was 1500hkd in Hong Kong, that’s about 192usd. To be honest I would’ve paid to have a real leather version and an electromagnetic body for the sabers. But at this price I don’t think it’s possible for all those features for a licenced figure. And I do prefer to have a cheaper option for these things especially since hottoys does multiple figure lines

So excited for this figure to come in soon! I preordered a while back so hoping it can come soon!

They’re using pleather so much it’s starting to feel intentional, like they know how awful pleather is and they’re too lazy to sculpt the boots and belt out of plastic. I would like to hear hot toys’s explanation on why they use pleather for the boots and other stuff instead of plastic or anything other than that goddamn pleather.

Great review as always!!! Love your rant, well deserved! I’m always wondering how Hot Toys make their decisions on which characters to make and release order. And what accessories to include. But you said it usb cable should be included!! Pleather pleather pleather, oh I hate it. I get upset when I see my Crow figure and his jacket and pants are all flakey! I feel I tossed my money away! What can apply to the pleather to make it last but not compromise the softness/mobility of the pleather??? Because Hot Toys isn’t going to stop using it! Because we keep buying their figures! Yes the look awesome and that’s why we get them. But when you see that pleather flacking and all those flacks covering the floor on your display case, man It really makes you wonder why I’m still collecting these! Nothing last forever, that’s a fact. The head sculpt not to bad but it isn’t a ten. Did they fire the sculptures? Why are we missing two Obi Wans? We need and Episode 1 & 2. Where’s young Anakin dress in his desert clothes? I don’t think we’ll see that one ever! But we will see this Anakin again Artisan version with real hair pony tail. lol three lightsabers but no usb cable!

Terrific review, the robe he comes with and the robot hand don't seem film accurate. I'm pretty sure the robot hand didn't have wires and looked like seamless chrome metal

I Think the likeness here it's beter than the episode 3 figure, despite like you said the logic would be that the episode 3 one would be easier to get it right... the neck i feel it's a bit too short but amazing figure, and we should all right a letter to HT for still using fake leather !

Im waiting on mine to be delivered, so im a bit bummed out the head sculpt isn't exactly like the prototype! Having said that, i still like the sculpt and can see Haydens likeness! As for the LED sabers, I have the 2 sabers from AOTC pre made in CCFL, and they are gonna like fantastic on this figure!

I've seen you mention the "new" swooshing effect for lightsaber on newer figures but going back through your videos of star wars characters at reveal events I still haven't seen the new one, what figures have the new version I want to see what it looks like.

When i saw the thumbnail i thought this was an Elvis doll, so i clicked and nope, it's Star Wars lol!

I don't own any priced Action Figures (yet). If I did, since it would be 1 or a few ones, I would change the pose quite often so the pleather is kind of a deal breaker

Boy, they really screwed up on the mechanical hand. No articulation, and they sculpted in the big, silver cable-control lever used by the FX technicians to work the prop. And which wouldn’t be on the “real”, in-universe hand.

I collected them, I collected all of them. They're all mine's every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and children figures. They're like animals, and they slaughtered my wallet like animals. I love them.

The problem with the Jedi robes is that the material is too thick and if it was made of something thinner and the hoods are supposed to be oversized than what they are for these figures then it would sit just right on shoulders and look flush along with the wire of course much much better.

Great video Justin! Apparently the tabards are actually vegan leather. But sadly the belt and boots are still pleather. Hopefully the Artisan Anakin will have the full leather kit (tabards,belts and boots)

I think you nailed it in one of your other reviews, I think it was Vader. It's a business decision. If they gave us leather, then there is no reason for us to get the next figure other than maybe an updated headsculpt. Pleather guarantees them income every 5 or so years by releasing a reissue or 2.0. That being said, you should never stop advocating for the best possible figure. Riley constantly is doing his fix black suit tobey hashtag and I constantly call out Hot Toys for the neck bulge spideys, single jointed arms, and visible jointed figures. We're paying hundreds of dollars per figure. We have the right to ask for the best

My question is if Geonosis sand is any better than Tatooine sand (or Jaaku sand which is totally not aaaaanything like Tattooine!)...

I'm not sure why you don't like the fanning lightsaber blade. A swinging lightsaber creates a blur with straight edges just like the one provided. There would be no curve.

Can the heads be swapped with revenge of the sith figure?

The arm issue was on the led arm swap out on the Clone wars Anakin. I wonder what's with that chrome stick out part on the robotic arm

Do you use any kind of treatment products to protect the pleather? I was looking at 303 Protectant. It does suck, though. We shouldn’t have to even think about that on figures that cost as much as Hot Toys.

I wish they would do something about their lighting, they’ve been so complacent with it for so long. They need a competitor to start make a better solution standard, as with rolling eyes. C3PO just looks dead on the shelf, same with Iron Man, same with the sabres.

usb power is not a fiasko! it is necesary for many figures, but HT does not understanf it., I own Iron Man from final battle, it has 18!!!! batteries inside. I hate to turn on all the lights, it is so boring((

Dude, I have been watching your reviews for awhile. You never ever pose them holding their sabers correctly. You need to have them hold the saber at the choke of the hilt. If you do that, the wire won't matter at all when the figure holds it.
