This has got to be the most informative video I've seen yet. I've always wanted to lift my detolf cabinets off the floor but was never sure how to do it without building something on my own. Thanks a lot man and as always great video!

Excellent video- I have been thinking of keeping it to 1 figure per cube- I have crammed 3 figs in there and it just looks cluttered. Also trying to be very picky about what I want to feature and display- thank you for this!

Great video! I'm the same way with my three Detolfs. I only put one to two figures per cube. Except for my Jazz Inc Detolf Tantive IV diorama. I currently have 4 figures crammed into that cube. Lol.

Your collection is so clean and tidy. I love it so much. This is the dream for me. Currently don’t have space for the detolfs, although I do own 3 currently in storage. I much prefer no stands for the figures too, I’m using museum clear gel to hold the figures in place. Seems to work really well, as mine are free standing on a floating shelf.

Thanks Jordon! Appreciate your kind words and feedback. That museum gel is a good thing to have in your collector tool kit.

Once I saw an action figure for the first time, I realized that it's deserves a proper way to be exposed. Each figure is a piece of art that is connected with our emotions and a specific history that must be preserved! The way you maintain your figures it is a show for spectator's eyes! Thanks to share with us details that is hidden behind the passion you have about your collection!

Idk if you ever thought of it, you might not need to but blue tack on the feet is better than a stand. I found that even the crotch grabbers will damage a figure if left long enough. Blue tack is a good solution.
@OneSixthFigureFocus
@OneSixthFigureFocus Жыл бұрын
Blue tack or museum gel. Your right about the grabbers. I don’t use blue tack or anything but I’d consider if a pose was particularly challenging

@One Sixth Figure Focus I forgot all about museum gel. It's clear and specifically made for this reason. I got a 3 year old and he likes looking at the figures and he likes slapping the case so figures wobble lol

@@kalibkadafi7747 Is that what its called officially, museum gel? I buy ones that are like transparent dots, double sided adhesive, (I post this and it keeps deleting my post anytime I mention where or names... annoying.) They are usually all from china but I have loved using them for years now. It is advertised as a sticky gel that is used for ornaments or hobbies, but it works amazingly to hold figures so they dont tip over and fall, and there is not any damage to the figure.

like tips. but for people that actually pose the figures we need a stand

I do pose the figures. They are all posed. In character poses that suit the characters. They just aren’t dynamic poses. I also mention this point in the video. Thanks for watching.

The Kallax maximum weight is a lot lower than the 75lb detolfs. I was wondering if you had any alternative options for risers?

I never had any issue with the weight load.

I have recently bought and set up 5 lots of Luke lights and had a 7 port sub hub ready but when I plugged in all of the usbs from the Luke lights they went all dim. I then had to use a usb plug for each of the 5 Luke lights, have you not had that problem? Do I need a more powerful usb hub to support the 5 sets of lights and if so where did you get your Manhattan usb port from. Thanks
@OneSixthFigureFocus
@OneSixthFigureFocus Жыл бұрын
The first usb hub I used once turned on the Luke lights blinked on and off constantly. I’m not sure why but I’m guessing the usb hub wasn’t allowing the correct current to flow through the Luke lights so I replaced it with another usb and worked a charm

For #6, It would be nice to display 1 figure per shelf.. but for 90% of collectors that is impossible. I kind of find a lot of people look down on people who have a lot of figures displayed together and like to call it "cluttered", "dirty", "excessive." I have posted some of my collection and constantly get the "HOW DO U CLEAN THE DUST, jeeze" like really... you clean it like anyone else does. Dust is a part of life and in every single household, collector or not, you have to clean it as its inevitable. It's almost like veiled jabs at people who collect and don't adopt that minimalist approach for everything... I just don't even get how you can have a minimalist approach for collecting, the whole idea in the name is COLLECTING, so its accumulating things you like lol. I get you say you are curating instead, but just as an example, how do you display the power rangers? I have the threezero power ranger set and its impossible to have them all on one shelf each... it would be such a huge space hog and kind of kill the cool factor of having them all displayed together like they are always seen. It just isn't feasible for everyone and I really dislike how its constantly forced as some kind of goal for collectors to maintain.
@OneSixthFigureFocus
@OneSixthFigureFocus Жыл бұрын
Yes it’s called collecting and you accumulate things you like but how I display those pieces is important to me. Even if that means boxing up and rotating figures between displayed and undisplayed. Every display is different. Every collector is different. I do think cramming multiple figures into Detolfs looks cluttered but that’s not a jab to insult you or any other collector. It’s simply a difference in taste. That’s all. At the end of the day it’s your collection and you should do what you like. Don’t let what other collectors (including myself) do or say so affect you. I mention multiple times in this video that this works for me and might not work for everyone. Thanks for watching and commenting. 👍🏼
