It’s so weird watching a motorcycle drift like that. You’d think the devs would include a different driving mechanic for them but it’s probably easier to keep it simple. I also like the elimination game mode. Haven’t tried a race like that since Burnout Revenge.

Oh man, the shortcuts in this one are probably gonna be crazy. If it has the same physics as the first game, then that, along with the new jumping mechanic is gonna lead to some wild shortcuts.

I love that the motorcycle can jump over those darn spider webs. Those things are such a buzz kill when you have a good lap going! I am totally buying this to go along with the first in the series!

The previous game got a fairly decent reception, apart from all the microtransactions, but really, nobody played it. There are currently 36 people playing Hot Wheels Unleashed. So what does a new title mean? Pretty simple, a cashgrab.

I'm looking forward to playing this. The difficulty looks like it has been balanced properly this time. You can jump to dodge traps and obstacles. Dashing is a form of ramming your opponents like on Burnout. You can now draft opponents, and there's a level progression system. Which I hope has some sort of Prestige or similar feature. Very nice Milestone, hopefully there aren't any cheap exploits for multiplayer.

How different are the physics compared to the first game? It was my biggest problem with it that the cars had seemingly no weight going into corners (I MEAN, yes, they're toys, toys are light, but it was super unfun how understeery they were)

There are a lot more checkpoints placed now, even on top of loops. So you cant skip loops like the previous game.

They do,it's just only noticeable when you're standstill cuz they barely steer.The reason for this is because the diecasts themselves don't have much available room to make their wheels turn from side to side.

@@andre13silvi Mostly in the mechanics. Drift-focused handling, huge emphasis on boost management, sidegrades for customization rather than straight upgrades, seemingly different handling styles(?). Feels like all that would make a surprising depth of strategy for online races like what happened in RR7. That's basically the furthest extent of it I feel though. I guess this game also has a decently strong art style (on account of being Hot Wheels) but the vibe can't be more different lol
