The Unit Chief unlike no other, Hotch. So underrated, but his office was always at the top ( left side) of stairs. He may have been quiet, but he was always the boss, not Gideon or Rossi. And he loved everyone, but he was the boss..

I'm fairly certain it wasn't a fluke that Hotch was the only character who was also a parent when the show started. They may not have meant to, but they wrote him as the father figure of the BAU family from the very beginning. And he played it wonderfully.

Actually, Gideon was a parent as well. We just didn't knew about until later and Rossi had a kid as well, he died after a hour he was born- and later we found out that one of his lovers had a Baby from him and didn't tell him. So, Hotch wasn't the only Father.

I love all of these, but my favorite scene with Garcia and Hotch is when Penelope had to stay at the BAU for a prolonged amount of time, and she was pretty down about it. Hotch made sure she was doing okay and had dinner with her. I'm not gonna lie, I cried because that just showed the strength of their bond and friendship. I wish Thomas hadn't gotten fired. It would have been a great last few seasons if he'd been there.

I love her talk with Hotch after the Press Liaison disaster. She looks like she’s waiting for him to chew her out/shout at her, and he’s just lovely, so reassuring and reminds her that she’s valued. You can also see that it hurts him to hear herself put herself down, with the « monkey with a trumpet » and basically stating it was a disaster and just correcting her with three words ( « you did fine »- simple and to the point). Also love the « Keep it clean. And don’t call me honey! » made me laugh, and I bet she called him nothing else for quite a while after! They are so different but get along so well. Two of my favourite characters!

I love Hotch (he really does carry the father/ authoratatitive figure well) and how he engages with Garcia, Reid, Morgan, Emily and JJ. Also, how Rossi plays the rich and generous Uncle figure very well. With all the gruesome things they dealt with their love for and engagement with each other made it a great show to watch. Hotch and Gideon worked great together, and that Hotch was a bit more fun. But hey, with the additional responsibiities comes more leadership and that is Hotch. The best unit chief this team has seen. Prentiss was just missing something as a leader.

I love all the little conversations/smiles/hugs they share: in Season 9, episide 6 when he comes to her Day of the Dead party and she wishes him a happy early/almost birthday, when she talks to and hugs him in Season 9 ep 5 ( Route 66) when he’s awake after surgery, their adorable omelette-making scene in the season 11 ep where she has to stay at the BAU for her own safety/to be protected, when they dance together at JJ’s wedding ( season 7 finale). She can really make him smile and he is always so supportive and encouraging of her! Would love a video of that!

Omfg thank you! Thank you so much! Hotch is my favorite and finally a video about him😍😍😍😭 And God hotch was the best unit chief... The way he understood everyone of them, He's supposed to be this really no nonsense no humor guy, but when it comes to Garcia, he lets her be. ❤

I love this show...never get tired of binge watching... Hotch was the best unit chief...and the work relationship that Garcia (baby girl)and Morgan had was to die for...those two😍

Watching this video just reminded me about something. Even though Hotch is/was no longer part of the team there was always a piece of him still with them mainly with Reid! His secret second gun Hotch use to wear. He gave it to Reid when they was being held hostage and Reid killed the guy with Hotch’s secret gun even though he was aiming for the guy’s leg. Reid carried and used Hotch’s gun right up until the final episode!?! It’s never made clear if Hotch transferred the ownership to Reid because it was his own personal gun, not a government issued one. But I love how Reid always wore and still used it throughout the rest of the seasons apart from when he ended up being framed by Cat and was in jail!
