I watched most of the video since I bought a 7Kg '743 less than a year ago. From the '742 PDF: "The washing machine has a “Auto-Clean” cycle for its internal parts; it must be run without any load in the drum. To optimise this cycle, it is possible to use either detergent (10% of the quantity specif i ed for lightly soiled garments) or special additives to clean the washing machine. We recommend running a cleaning cycle every 40 wash cycles. To start the programme, close the door, turn the machine ON and press button for 5 seconds. The cycle will start automatically and will run for about 70 minutes. To stop the cycle, press the START/PAUSE button."

I re-inforced one of these by adding two of the mounting brackets that you get with a built in hob. They are a strong thick piece of metal, about 2.5 inches long with a slot in the centre. I had to put them in a vice and drill the centre out a bit to let the thread come through and then put the nut on. So far, it has been fine.

The stickers are a response to people using bits of videos. KZfaqs policy is that you can pilfer clips of video to “make” shorts. This way the name of the original creator lives on. As for the spanners: they were a lidl purchase about 20 years ago and they have stood the test of time!

the F08 error is this: If an Indesit or Hotpoint washing machine is flashing an LED 8 times, or is displaying the error code F08, this usually indicates the following. “Heater relay can't be activated” or “heater relay stuck”.

When you do the student run, keep in your mind (Angle Iron), the gods of Angle iron will help you lol :-D That back mount needs more than a washer. Long thick Angle iron. I hope the two drum springs are not creating the ticking, that would be taking the micky. I understand the problem of selling stuff, I've had things boomerang back at the speed of light. 299792458 meters per sec approx lol. I give away things for free and they don't come back, Sods law in operation lol.

Very few returns on free stuff, but the risk then is that the person doesn't really want it and never uses it. But ya makes yer choices.

@@bootsowen You mean hoarders, i had a friend that brought useless stuff home because it was free, but he never repaired it. You pickup and repair things and give the working item to friends or someone in need. A big difference :-D

The auto clean cycle, washes the inside of the drum and is a 90 degree wash, the machine should be empty. The purpose of the plate for the chassis repair kit is to reinforce the chassis, so while the washer is a good idea, it's just a washer sitting on the broken chassis, the plate gets bolted directly to the chassis to reinforce it. The machine is a 2020 appliance, chances are drum was changed. It can happen from people leaving coins in pockets, gets shot out when on 1400 spin and gets a hole in the drum, chances are that's why it was changed. But I'm assuming, I've seen 6 month old ones of these needing a drum cause of a hole in the drum. The f08 may have come up because u had rags in the auto clean, which got too hot in the 90 degree wash and the ntc picked up the extra heat when it was trying to cool down and thought the relay was stuck cause the wet in the rags was still 90 degrees or above. (just guessing) and the board assumed the relay was stuck cause it was still detecting the heat.

@@bootsowen it's random mate, it can get shot out the side of the tub, I've seen it happen, or bra wire gets stuck and punctures drum when machine is spinning, any number of things. It's not guaranteed to always happen but does and can happen

Yeah the Auto Clean is just a tub clean will hit 90' you put it on this with 0 clothes in it.. its just a way for the machine to clean its self out and the plastics etc.

Drum replacements - Do happen alot with hotpoints.. but usually u wont get ticking unless. they fitted the wrong tub... which has happend to me in past and machine got scrapped.. F08 - thats weird. machine upto temp. but seems there is something triggering it off. could be relay.. But you can cheat the wires... to see if any are burnt or chared. you can turn off the machine. unplug the heater connector and leave it 5 mins plug back in an it will forget it happend. If persits im sad to say - in modern hotpoints - PCB faults for this F08 are triggered and there is no PCB fix. apart from a whole new board.... :(

its a sealed tub, & bearings are shit on these, its prob had a tub change under warrenty

It's a fairly fucked up world when you have to throw away half the machine after a year because of cheap bearings!

I have been involved in electrical appliance sales since I left school in 1975. Back then we were selling washers at an average of £259 when many people took home £50 a week wages. All these years later, the machines are the same price or less but everything else is 6 times the price it was then and wages are 6 times higher. This is now a crazy industry. The public in UK always want cheap stuff, they always ask "Is that your cheapest machine?" I visited a few German dealers and saw that over there, the prices were often in four figure sums but the machines were built like battleships. In UK the big dealers are always demanding that manufacturers keep the price down, hence they are using the shittiest parts they can source in order to make two bob machines. Even sealing the tubs is cheaper than screws to hold the tub together. I have stopped stocking Hotpoint and Indesit machines, they are so badly made now, it is disgraceful. The crappy tubs and as in your video, even the chassis isn't strong enough to support it. The soap drawers leak and the latest range like the one in your video, often have door rubbers that have a large gap, allowing socks and things to go through. After a lifetime in this industry, the quality of today's products just pisses me off.@@bootsowen

@@bootsowen because the water won’t be able to go into key components of the machine as the clothes stop the motion of the water and the heat of the clothes made the machine think that it’s still heating which made the F08 error. Do a autoclean video cycle and ur reaction on it without clothes in
