tvOS 18 has been released to developers with some nice new features and changes. tvOS 18 supports Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD, and it will be available to public beta testers in July. With tvOS 18, Apple has added new insights, enhanced dialogue, AirPlay spatial audio, 21:9 aspect ratio support, FaceTime captions, and much more.

I do actually. I have the Apple One subscription and it’s served me very well, with the Apple TV + and the iCloud storage. That storage has also helped with security cameras too.

No because it is still not available in The Netherlands but the majority of people who live here can speak perfectly English so a translation is not needed. So Apple WTF?

I tried Apple fitness when i had the trial, it was fine. But for the price, really not worth it. Like you i KZfaq my trainers etc..

Yup, I do the cycling workouts every morning. Way cheaper than a peloton. Get a cheap stationary bike and you’re good to go. I recommend Echelon.

More importantly, they need to put full MacOS on the Apple Silicon iPads. I keep buying and selling my iPads because there’s not much more the iPad can do compared to my iPhone

Ted Lasso is an AMAZING and incredibly wholesome show that will make you cry for all the right reasons. It’s for adults (profanity, adult themes, so not for kids), but don’t let that deter you from giving it a chance. It’s only 3 seasons and if I hadn’t watched it as it was released I’m confident I could binge the whole thing in a weekend with some good food and comfy blankets.

The difference with "Enhance Dialogue" this time around with tvOS 18 is that it will now work over HDMI connected speakers, like say for example, through an AVR and 5.1 speaker setup.

I know you don’t care and are only asking for the KZfaq algorithm- more comments. But Apple workouts are pretty sweet for stuff you don’t normally do. As I’m getting older I realize mobility starts fading. So I like to do mobility exercises with Apple workouts. Pilates and stretching etc etc. I still hit the weights on my own but throw those in for off days.

Thanks for the video. I love my Apple TVs and never feel like it gets the attention it deserves. Interesting to see the Movies and TV Shows apps are still around. Not sure what to do with those anymore and I don’t want to delete them in case there is a plan for them later.

The gripe I have switching from a fire cube is that Siri needs the Apple TV to be awake to work. I could use the Fire Remote to trigger an Alexa routine that turns the TV on and sets the mood!

All I want is for my music to show up (I don’t have Apple Music subscription) I just want to see the music I have stored in iTunes which is also just called Apple Music now. Also Ted Lasso is definitely a must watch!

Thanks for this walk thru. Apple Fitness plus is great. It’s good for people of any age and any ability. If you have an Apple Watch you’ll get the most benefit.

Nice summary. I was really hoping that the new OS would allow offline storage of shows from Netflix and other streaming services… we use our Apple TV in our van, and it would be so convenient to watch offline shows in areas with sketchy internet coverage.

I actually haven’t gotten the option to choose my home hub yet! I have the first beta but for some reason it hasn’t been given to me to choose yet! And I would love to do that because I have like 6-7 of them and I would choose to just keep ito n my Apple TV!!

I have a 2022 ATV 4K that makes this weird, high-pitched chirping noise through the our Samsung tv's speakers. It occurs when you open or close content, or when a KZfaq video/Hulu show cuts to and returns from a commercial break. It happens maybe 70% of the time, and it’s irritating. I’m still running tvOS 17, have you noticed this problem before? If so, does tvOS 18 seem to have a similar problem or does it seem to be solved?

Sounds like hdmi audio syncing issues. Play with your hdmi settings on Samsung. Try a different cable. No issues here with same apple tv with 17 or 18 beta, and with hisense tv connected via receiver. Or bite the bullet and get a cheap sound bar and connect the apple tv through that then sound bar to the tv. Or just a hdmi box. A fix for now.

They need to fix the problem while listening to music. When the time bar disappears I have to pause then play the song for it to appear before being able to get to the lyrics or up next buttons

Hey everybody, I hope somebody out there can help me with the problem that I’m having Every time I turn on my Apple TV and watch a movie or whatever, every time I shut off my Apple TV my TV shuts off. This has been happening since the very first Apple TV how is this even a thing? I just bought a brand new TV thinking that it would change and it didn’t. I have last year’s Apple TV 4K and it’s just so frustrating and mind-boggling that this is STILLLLLLL happening!! Does anybody have any insight on this?

What the heck Apple… Why is the Apple TV experience so limited. We have these big TV’s (large glass) and can do so little with it! Why can we not have a “profile” for each user so that each user has their own apps along with respective configuration, along with FaceTime (more than what we have now - including camera), iMessage, real notifications, yes Safari, etc, etc, etc…. This has to be the most under utilized Apple product! It could do so much more! It’s painful how slow the development cycle is on this product.

It’s not out yet. It’s coming out later this year, this video is showing the developer’s beta. He mentions that in the first 20 seconds of the video.

Apple TV+ has a lot of good things, mostly tv series, some movies are good as well. Sadly Ted Lasso is not one of those good things..

Ted Lasso might not be to your taste but you can’t really say it isn’t good as if you are speaking for everyone. It was massively popular, the most popular show ever for Apple TV, won loads of awards and got good reviews.
