南北朝亂世年間，魏國權臣高歡欲弑殺孝武帝以自立為王，名將獨孤信前去營救，護送孝
武帝錢去投奔權臣宇文泰。在逃亡的過程中，從一古寺祠中得到卦詞：“帝星未明，然獨孤天
下。“，預示著帝朝命運的改變。高歡稱帝，是為齊國。而宇文泰則因從龍有功成為魏國的掌權者。同時，他也因為孝武帝對孤獨信的信任以及僧人所傳示的“獨孤天下”的預示妒忌繼而排擠獨孤信。然而獨孤信在聽聞未婚妻羅氏為不願拖累自己而自刎時備受打擊，娶身份卑微的妻子郭氏以示自己無心霸業。同時名門五姓之家的崔氏嫡女因為救命之恩而對獨孤信一往情深。獨孤信為人正直，對原配情深意重便納崔氏為平妻。同時立下此生只生一女，不育任何男子的誓言。
十餘年過去，宇文泰稱帝之心愈發強烈，而獨孤信成為大司馬，成為西魏最著名的武官。獨孤信的三個性格剛烈女兒合力保護弟弟不受其它貴公子的欺辱。大姐般若質疑父親為何培養她們而忽視對兒子的培養，獨孤信重新表露自己韜光養晦的原因是為了削減宇文泰對 “獨孤天下”的猜疑之心。而大女兒般若卻不贊成父親的做法，認為父親應該稱雄天下為獨孤族氏帶來興盛。而小女兒伽羅卻更願意佈施以減輕世間疾苦，對爭權奪利毫不關心，她的行為得到父親獨孤信的支持。

I used to be, but then there is not many good historical dramas anymore. If you like fantasy/ historical I can recommend you some. There is also some good modern ones that got me into moderan dramas. I myself like high school and teen romance in the modern drama genre.

I have always thought mandarin was a beautiful language. Sounds like a symphony ❤. For years I have wanted to learn.This year I started taking lessons. My friend from Caton told me to watch lots of Chinese movies it will help. Now I am really enjoying all the beautiful men in these period dramas just as much as the language 😍

You dont know my condition.....actually at first the number of my glasses was 0.5 so than I used to avoid wearing glasses becuz 0.5 is not that much.....but suddenly than my number has increased to 1 and 2.5.....I am literally very much worried about my eyes....and this all happened because I dont sleep early and while watching anything on mobile I dont wear my specs....

Yes and my first costume drama was love and redemption.....earlier I used to avoid costume dramas....as they used to pop up in my recommendations....but as lot many friends of mine used to recommend me L and D regularly.....I was like....ok!ok!I will watch it....but pls leave me for god's sake...and after lots of hardships I watched it....and I will literally tell you....I didn't regret....thanks to insane friends of mine

These Chinese historical dramas are wonderful! They are beautifully done - thoughtful, deeply engaging. Really good acting performances. Bravo! If you binge-watch these films, you may well find yourself drawn into a very different time, a very different mindset - a profoundly different experience. In a sense, you become a time traveler. In comparison, these Chinese historical dramas make contemporary films seem drab, banal, and unworthy of attention.

I prefer historial drama more then moderns one when I was in a sleepover with my best friend she asked me to watch a movie I said which one she responded a moderns one I said no I prefer Chinese ones she said she doesn’t like Chinese drama so I said than she can watch it herself I went to the room to watch my Chinese drama by miself that was the first time we ever argued and if you guys wonder what chinese drama did we argue about it’s actually this one lol 😂

Thank you for the English sub. i was able to enjoy another good Chinese drama about the lives of three sisters, two well rounded & one spolied, rotten sister. The choices they made or shove on their lives which would affect how they lived. Great acting of Ady An & Jeremy Jones. Love the costumes & sceneries. Worth watching....

I was totally hooked on this 6th century saga of how the allies of two evil, but powerful, characters wreak havoc in everything from the family, right into the seat of government and into relations between nation states. The brutal chaos they cause is left to the other characters to deal with in a context where everyone wins, yet everyone loses. All the actors are amazing and bring the complex plot to life, and not even the awful “Google Translate” subtitles manage to ruin the imaginative work of the scriptwriters. This series is a feast for the eyes (brilliant photography, beautiful real-life scenery, and stunning costumes, choreography and sets). It’s also a banquet for the ears (everything from classical Chinese to modern orchestral to ballad-poems). It's a festival for those who love history, drama, warfare, romance … and lots of tears.

Before i love to watch kdrama and so adicted but now i was so amaze with cdrama bc of amazing fantasy drama they are all interesting to watch especially with there customes and the nature..there all beautiful also i admired the actor and actress there so very talented and skills they are all amazing..but my fav the most is ashes of love it was so interesting and yet you can feel the true meaning of love,frendship,and especially to forgive someone that cause your pain.
