I think the issue of not being able to use all the lights outside must have been fixed in an update? I went back to this property and was able to use all the ceiling and wall lights turned on as I placed them straight outside. if this does not work at all properties, or if you haven't had the update for some reason, place the light inside, turn it on and then take it outside - it will remain on BUT they do all turn off when you travel away from the property.

@@ataraxisbuildsthings429 Thank you very much for your answer. I play with the original Steam version. It is updated, but it only works with the device turned on.(I would update my post, I found it in the settings. ECO lighting system, this had to be switched off and the lights stay on.)

Yes its SO annoying isn't it?? All that wasted space 😭 Apparently the latest download has addressed this problem but I haven't tried it out yet - I found it was unreliable before anyway - houses from the newer dlc's you could sell them, while houses from the base game you still couldn't. They are my number one criticism of the game!!!!

@@ataraxisbuildsthings429 I am not able to sell or change the garage doors on any of the houses from the base game, luxury or pets DLC’s…even though there’s garage doors for purchase on the tablet. Maybe it’s because I’m playing on the Series X. The latest Xbox update ruined my original saved game, so I lost all my progress(and cash) and had to start from scratch…hope you have better luck with PC updates.

@@seanwilks7712 oh shit Sean I’m so sorry to hear that!!! I have an idea for something that may work (if you want) to speed through your game back to where you’d progressed to. This works for me on PC so you’d have to experiment on your platform. I haven’t heard of anyone else doing it but I’ve found that just the barest minimum items in a room to get it to change its label on the plan/compass on the top right of the screen is enough to qualify it as ‘finished’ with the game. So for example, the cheapest sofa and a cheap coffee table are ALL that is required for a room to re-register itself as a living room. The cheapest single bed works for the bedroom. One cooker and one sink will work for the kitchen. One table and four chairs for the dining room and the cheapest loo, sink and shower for the bathroom. All you have to do is add the upper wall pieces to create a wall outline - no doors, windows, lights, switches or radiators are needed. I haven’t found the right requirements for an office yet 😕 So to recap, all you need to do is clean the trash, plaster any holes, sell all existing furniture and fittings and replace with those few basic items (sort the garden if you have garden DLC) and then auction the house. No wall or floor finishes, decorations or extra furniture matters to the game beyond those basic items. Also, you could fulfil the bare requirements for the garden competition (if you have garden DLC), do the competition, then SELL all the garden items and then put the house up for auction - you keep the garden competition bonus but you’ve got some of the money back on the items. Don’t move to the office/another flip or leave the game between doing the garden competition and putting the house up for auction though or you’ll loose that competition bonus. Sorry if knowing this kind of ‘ruins’ the game for you but it would be a way to make lots of money and regain your progress super quick. Also I’ve found not having to try and meet the games expectations has really freed up my creativity - I know nothing I do in level really makes a difference to what money I make so I do what I want!!! Hope this helps, remember to check the compass room description to check you have a kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedrooms. I’m not even sure having an office or dining room actually makes a difference either 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
