I agree! I always felt for sadhana (tabus character) because she gets married, then there’s an engagement in the home next day. Then another engagement during her honeymoon. She literally had to have a baby before she can get any attention as a daughter in law 😅 and the misogyny in this movie is another level!! The mom wants to divide everything between her sons, doesn’t even remember her daughter who is the entire reason of the division. They literally have a dialogue about doctors becoming housewives. 🥴

This movie really has portrays a lot of discrimination. Sonali Bindre in the movie is a Doctor, and her dad says "ab ye doctor house wife ban jayegi"

Loved how you talked about important issues through ur humor..not prioritizing the daughter, educated women yet has to be housewives and all..

I think pop cultures like films has a role to play in the society. People just don't watch it but idealize it. How women were portrayed as housewives only cooking for men, sacrificing for husband's and brothers and all such stereotypes. Only the men going out, taking degrees, handling business. It influences people in a wrong way and portrays women submissive in the patriarchal world. Even the famous DDLJ is such a movie where eve teasing generalized. How ladki ko chedna was a normal thing in movies. Good that the world is changing, audience is smart and rational. The film industry is changing and a lot has to change. Even the advertisements need to change, like a male scientist explaining the power of a washing powder to a group of women. We need gender neutral world, for a better world. You are doing a great job.
