Shockingly so. It really surprised me. This...and his chagrin after Vhagar chomped on Luke and his little dragon..made him a real person rather than a cartoon villain. Not sure he achieves sympathetic antagonist standing, but it's close.

Nope. Larys has more power moving in the background. The Hand is a very public position. If he really wanted to be Hand, he could have pushed for the position after he killed his father.

In the BTS, they do say that Jaehaerys's body is a silicon model of the real boy. When I looked at it again. I think they were trying to suggest the head might fall off, but it also sort of jiggles in a way a real body would not.

Cargyll brawl was everything i hoped for it was devastating yet tragic love how they make slight changes to the books, while still having the book version make sense as historical account. The blacks account of Erryk's death would omit his suicide to make it seem more honourable, and over time this morphs into the over top almost poetic story of them dying on each other's blades.

Mushroom's account turned out to be an exaggeration of what happened to the twins. Maester Gladayne's story ,which is the official story omits all the emotion and just says the twins killed each other.

The mad King isn't Aegon's descendant, he descended from Rhaenyra's and Daemon's bloodline, not Aegon's.

@@saltysmooth Aegon III had a second wife/queen after little Jaehaera's death - Daenaera Velaryon (Vaemond's granddaughter). But their sons died childless and were succeeded briefly by Aegon III's brother Viserys (who was quite a good king) and then by Viserys II's son Aegon IV (who was not a good king). So Daemon & Rhaenyra's line does continue for another 100+ years.

According to the spy reports during the filming of season 2, there wasn't one referring to a naval battle which The Battle Of The Gullet essentially is. That said, I believe we'll be seeing most every action leading up to that confrontation. The takeover of Harrenhal, the Battles of Burning Mill, Duskindale and Rook's Rest are definitely on the menu, but the clash in the Gullet because it's so pivotal will be held back for season 3, possibly even opening it.

i don’t think daemon wanted the throne at any point. he was born a second son and he knew what life had for him. he behaves like someone who wants dragons and dragon riders to be respected and feared accordingly.

I just saw the behind the scenes for ep 2, and they showed that jaeherys was a full 3d body scan of the child actor. The entire body is prosthetics

8:55 in episode 2 inside the episode they talked about how they used full body scans on Prince Jaehaerys actor and it's all silicon mold. They did the same to some of the rat catchers also who were hung.

8:52 The corpse is a full body silicone cast of the child actor. To further sell the effect, they cut the head off the silicone dummy and stitched back on. GOT's KZfaq channel has an extended BTS (20 minutes!) about the episode. I highly recommend watching it. In addition to the funeral scene, the effort and craftsmanship that went into building the Dragonstone set is insane.

Wait, did we watch the same fight at the end? Arryk (the Assassin) kills Erryk. We know he is the Assassin because he uses Erryk's leg wound to get out of the choke, Erryk charges back at him and is killed. Arryk, knowing that he has no chance at fulfilling his mission but also knowing that they don't know which twin he is, chooses to assume the identity of Erryk by refering to Rhaenyra as "your grace" and FALLS ON HIS SWORD, thus preserving his brother's honor. They do not die in each other's arms. I feel like that is a rather important detail.

They had exactly the same wounds, the creators said both were wounded on their legs and arms. The one who parted them was the one who left kngslanding to go to Rhaenyra. Which means the winner was Erryk.

@@leykimayri Erryk suffered the exact wound on screen. At no time was Arryk shown suffering that bad of a wound.

⁠@@greyman419 It’s Arryk who died, it was confirmed by the actors. We also did not see the whole fight on screen, some of the scene cut back to Ser Lorent and Rhaenyra, so Arryk could have suffered that wound offscreen.

@greyman419 Yes but we don't see the whole fight at all. I think people are making this way more complicated than it needs to be. He says "you separated us" referring to Erryk leaving Kingslanding, and then Erryk kills his Arryk, is horrified with grief, and asks the person he is sworn to protect, his queen, aka "your grace", for forgiveness for what he us about to do, which is kill himself because he can't stand to go on. Like very simple idk why people are like "no he was just pretending to be his brother for honor or whatever", like no why would he even think to do that immediately after killing his brother and knowing he is gonna kill himself?! Like why would anyone do something like that.

I think Erryk is the brother being choked bc his blood stains match the victors blood stains, on the left side of his face. The defeated brother on the floor, blood stains match the right side of his face of the one saying 'You parted us' which has to mean that's Arryk.

This was the best show from the beginning of the season one. I was almost crying when the brothers both passed away, I was so sad 😞. Best show of the year so far 🙏🏽🙏🏽💙💙💙

Also for number #8, apparently when Aegon walked in, you can actually hear Helena whisper something about “they want the boy” or atleast something similar to that. It’s really low but you can catch it from episode 1

8:53 don't worry they used a prosthetics doll. They also tried to compare their stitching to medieval examples of such, and obviously to make it visible to the public in the story so that they could see the brutality of the assassination.

Daemon should've been smart enough to know that Aemon idolises him, mf even dresses like him and acts like him, so he should've atleast anticipated that that the dude would most likely do what he (Daemon) would do at that time of the night (going to brothels) than sleeping in the castle, and send the assassins there instead. Or send two sets of assassins, one team at the brothel, one team at the Castle, just for good measure. Daemon fvcked up.

I don't think the scene photos of the women running in their mourning is a future vision. I think it's a cut scene. They probably had a big riot scene and cut it for time.
