I once owned a four square Victorian located in the fort Smith, Arkansas belle grove historic district...the original owner was actually buried in the back yard! The city didn't even know it!

I did some research about this place and saw this. It is about one of the names written on the walls, Narcissa. "Its history includes the story of the death of Narcissa Jane Childers, their daughter, who refused to give up the handsome young son of the plantations' overseer. She was locked in an attic room on the third floor, until she agreed never to see him again. Three times aday, a large silver tray of food was brought up to her. She could eat if she promised to give up her lover. Three times a day the tray was returned untouched to the kitchen. She vowed that she would remain true to her one and only love. Day after day, week after week passed and she ate nothing. At last death mercifully end the romantic struggle. She died at the age of sixteen and today her tombstone lies at the front steps of the Arlington Plantation, as a reminder of unrequited love."

I think the "orbs" yall are seeing are literally dust or something bc the same thing happens to me when i film with flash or light in especially dusty places, or after ive cleaned something dusty. even blown off a bit of powder on a mirror while filming a makeup video with ring lights and its literally like the dust/powder reflecting with light into the lens. But hey i wont knock whatever u believe in, as long as it makes you happy 😊

I enjoyed your tour...wow. I feel privileged when I get to tour old homes. America's history can be painful,it often is. When you step into private places and discover lives lived and sometimes how they died it can be life changing. People in those times had a whole set of trials and tribulations we can't fathom...we can talk about them but really let's admit we wouldn't want them. This house is a step back, it's architecture and style is truly lovely,it expresses the time,and the finances of the builder and the craftsman they hired.

I have a book about early Louisiana homes, and it surprised me to see that many had no interior stairs or hallways. If you wanted to enter a room, you went out to the porch/piazza and entered from the outside door there.

Many homes during the Civil War, unknown soldiers often inscribed their names on glass window. More or less, to say, Kilroy was here.

If they kept the doors open throughout the summer, they must have had a constant problem with insects coming in.

So much in that home that's waiting to be restored! I lean toward preservation rather than restoration, at least to some point in time, to include more of the home's history. I owned a 1700s farmhouse, and I kept some of the "improvements" done in the late 1800s because they made the house more interesting and functional. For some of the houses you show us it would be helpful to see a hand-drawn floor plan so that we can keep track as you move from room to room.

This is a fantastic house and the history is wonderful. That attic is special.

I love how the ghost turned the bathroom light on for you. Also there were a lot of orbs by the stair when you were showing the porch and the stairs. Lots of fast moving orbs, slower moving orbs, big orbs and smaller orbs. Very cool to see. I was expecting to see a lot in the attic too but only saw big flying around in that part of this video.

This house is a beautiful masterpiece, especially the moldings and fanlight doors. I would have to tear out that hideous arts and crafts staircase and restore the upper hall. I would be a lovely federal style stairwell in another area, most likely in the rear.

Did some digging on the house and turns out the bathroom where the light turned on by itself might actually be haunted.

No one has mentioned the lights floating around at 3:56 on the video, which are much different than the orbs later 9:08 on the porch. These small clustered of lights might be the camera. Thank you so much for doing all the wonderful videos of the old houses. I have been fascinated with old houses since I was very young. In my mind, I walk through my Great Grandmother's home that was built in 1902 in Little Rock Arkansas. When it was torn down many of the architectural pieces were saved and are now in my home in the Kansas City area. Through your videos, I am able to travel and do what I love most, tour old homes!

Such a gorgeous home in a beautiful and peaceful setting. If those walls could talk, what incredible stories they would have. I hope the new owners preserve its history. I love old homes and architecture and it’s history. I absolutely cry when cities tear down their old homes for new buildings. You loose so much history even in one house or building removed.

Conceivably a few construction workers who started working in the 1790s could have been running or at least directing a building crew in the 1830s, especially if they were master builders and in demand. I don't think master carpenters from the 1790s were concerned with following new-fangled "trends" of the 1830s.

The name etched in the window, was put there by a young lady who had become engaged. It was customary back in 18th and 19th centuries, to ensure the diamond engagement rings were real in this way.
