I just adore all the changes you have made to your home. The more natural and restful colours in paint and fabrics, beautiful antique hardware and wallpaper, bringing the outside in with your lovely outdoor spaces and plants inside. Such a change from the original contemporary style.

Lydia, I am living in France. Not sure if you have a large French audience but I am waiting for your vlogs every week. They are chearing me up, reconforting my heart because of the house, the garden, the ton of your videos, your kindness. I love when your were doing the country side intro with beautiful music in winter. Just keep going.

As an introvert, when I’m asked to do an extraverty type thing like attend and event or social thing I immediately check my cycle tracker app to see where I am in my cycle. If it’s period week then it’s a hard no from me 😅 If it lands around ovulation then I’m the most extraverty me but she’s short lived.

Just a practical point.... Make sure you have netting to go across the top to the chicken coup so you comply when Avian Influenza is a problem over winter and birds need to be shut in, better to wire off the top to prevent wild bird access than to have to shut them up inside completely!!

Chicken wire is not safe enough for chickens, it's not strong enough to keep the foxes out Lydia. You need to put fox proof wire fencing around the coup, much stronger. I speak from experience! ❤
@happygardener3990

You're spot on from someone who lost 6 chickens to a fox, not something I could ever re-live so no longer keep chickens. Foxes can also dig under the fencing so it should be dug into the ground to some depth.

Oh Lydia, I found you a few weeks ago. What amazing content you produce for us. I gotta be honest. I put you on my big screen TV and watch you for hours while I work on my projects. I love the length of your videos and that you talk to (what seems like) to me, much like a friend who comes over for a visit. Your personality is sweet and so genuine. Your home, focus and lifestyle is so comfortable. And, I love going on trips with you (and Ali). Please don't change a thing!!! 😊 I look forward to your next "visit."

I love your chicken coop. As I kept chickens a few years back I would recommend wire across the top too to keep foxes out & also maybe a corrugated plastic roof or similar. We found otherwise the enclosure became so muddy & smelly when it rained. There’s nothing like collecting freshly laid eggs from your own hens just outside your door🐔🥚 especially the double yokes x
@CountryloverCountrylover
@CountryloverCountrylover Жыл бұрын
Good idea, with bird flu such a problem you have to be able to keep the chickens in an enclosed area that other birds can’t get into so a roof in the run will provide this and also give added protection for foxes

It was lovely to hear you talking about being able to enjoy your own company. I’m very introverted- I’m not unsociable but I am an empath and I find being in the company of others absolutely exhausting. This isn’t anything to do with anyone else but my energy is affected by others’ - it sounds abit strange but when I get to that level I start feeling very unwell and flu-like; sore throat etc which dissipates when I’m alone and I can recharge with my dogs. I’m not weird I promise lol. I’m just wired that way. Sometimes though I feel embarrassed so I tend to avoid things. I also feel like I could watch these vlogs forever. They’re so calming, aesthetic and aspirational. Thank you 🙏🏻💗🌼

Lydia, I think you’ll find the book ‘Sensitive’ by Jenn Grannerman and Andre Solo really enlightening. It explains the super powers of empathy and intuition sensitive people have. It also explains why we need time by ourselves and how we respond to people, places and things when we’re highly sensitive. I hope you find it helpful. When your steamer is huffing and puffing, there is air trapped in the tube. Right before you are ready to stream and once the steamer is fully puffing, then hold the steamer head as high as you can to straighten out the tube so the air can escape. Then it’ll run smoothly. I usually do it every time I use my steamer.

We are in a very pivotal shift from 3D (ego, fear, victim, attack, self doubt) to 5D (heart based, love centered, authentic self, spirit connected, abundance, peace & satisfaction) So, we are getting a good look at what we are no longer choosing so we can consciously walk away from it. It’s like when you clean out a closet. It looks a mess before it’s all better.

@@bonnieolson80 Me, too! As long as I can remember. I also do what you do, and I must always have mint gum and a bottle of water. How bad is your phobia, do you think? There IS help. I have it to the extreme and I recently bought a book called The Thrive Program for Emetaphobia. Supposedly, it is one of THE HARDEST phobias to overcome, ever. But it IS possible. I bought the book but I haven't been meticulously reading it like I should. It's an awful phobia. I never had kids because of it...that is how bad I am now.

Lydia, I use grow lights for my indoor plants that need sun. They make some single bulb plug in grow lights that I suspend from a hook the ceiling. ( Amazon )My lemon tree is doing well under a single bulb.

Love the new outdoor space, you have thought about every detail 🙌🥰 I get what you mean about vomiting… I’m the same 😢 We just went to Fiji and both my husband & I had food poisoning 🥺🤢 worst ever experience, would never wish it upon my worst enemy! Now I can’t deal with the smell of meat 😵‍💫 My husband is trying to book another tropical holiday but I’m like 🥴🙈 😅

Sorry I know nothing about chicken and I apologize. But, I'm curious about how do you maintain your chickens during winter time?

For your calligraphy paper - have you tried putting it face down under a heavy book for a day or so? You can also put it under a piece of fabric and gently iron it (emphasis on gently haha). That should get most of the crease out without bending it :)
