Chloe….I don’t blame you for being frustrated or even annoyed with those comments. Please keep filming the way you have been. The majority of us understand.
@sillygoosegoose
@sillygoosegoose 2 ай бұрын
it never ceases to amaze me how much people think that the ten minutes of filming you do is the whole picture. i remember once years ago someone coming at you in the comments for 'pretending your kids were always well behaved and only showing the good bits'. you responded by saying 'we never claim they're always well behaved and it's not appropriate for us to film and share when they're having a tough time' and my respect for you sky-rocketed. like, we see the days when they're in the house doing very little, because that's when it's most appropriate and convenient to film. we see the little ones more than the older ones because they need to be much more closely supervised, so are with chloe more often. what makes it into the video is not the reality of family life.

As an educator in mainstream schools for 30 years, I agree with you 100 % regarding home school. Your children are very well socialized; they are lovely; bright; curious; and they have never-ending learning opportunities. Also, you manage to individualize for each child, right from birth. That is one of the reasons why I love watching your vlogs. I get ideas from you daily. I head Special needs(including gifted), also our schools Early Years Department. ❤🎉thank you for sharing.

I usually don't comment but I absolutely NEED to tell you that you're doing an OUTSTANDING job with raising and teaching your children!!! Social media has become such a nasty place for all those people who think they have to criticise and spit nonsense, it's just disgusting. PLEASE try to not let that pull you down. I have four myself, I'm a former teacher and all I can say is that there are millions of parents out there that don't even reach 1% of the amazing job you're doing!

How anyone can question your parenting or home schooling amazes me. Your children are so happy and bright and healthy. The toddlers knowledge of letters, numbers, shapes etc is remarkable. You have mentioned meeting other groups of children and we know we only see a very tiny bit of your life. We are very grateful for that. Love to all 12 of you from a grandma in England.x

Homeschooling has been around for so long, and yet people are still concerned with socialization! I homeschooled all 4 of my kids, they went off to university, have jobs and are contributing successfully in the world! Keep being you! Your family is sweet, respectful and fun! ❤

It depends on what sort of socialization they do, though. There are a massive number of families in the US that deliberately only socialize with other white Christian families who share the same views. It’s easy to worry about homeschooling when that’s the only kind of homeschooling you’ve been exposed to. Maybe that’s where some of the comments are coming from? Here in France it’s barely legal, and as such, so rare that people only tend to do it if they are super religious or have disabled children whose needs wouldn’t be met well in school. I think a lot of public perception of homeschooling depends on what it looks like where one lives.

It's a concern because people do homeschooling wrong all the freaking time. Just because it's been around for so long doesn't mean that it's done well by everyone, or even most people. Clearly these guys are doing it excellently but that's far from universal.

I burst out laughing at your comments on homeschooling. I got the same lectures 40 years ago when I was homeschooling my children. "You are isolating them and they will never be able to fit in and function in the world". The oldest is now almost 50 years old, practicing International Law for over 25 years now, and has filled more passports than anyone I know traveling the world. The 2nd is a Mechanical Engineer and has worked for major companies managing teams of hundreds of people. They will come into their adult life no matter how they are raised. Just enjoy the time you have with them, they are young for such a short window of life.

As a high school teacher, I personally only believe that a homeschooled child may be at a disadvantage in year 11 and 12, lacking the resources and specialised teachers for specific subjects. For example, if Evan wanted to go into medicine, he would need quite a few pre-requisite subjects which high school teachers complete a degree to teach. Without experiencing high school subjects at high school, especially the ones that include school-based resources like access to a science lab or wood working shop, a homeschooled child may have a short adjustment period to acclimatising to the equipment and routines. Your children are incredibly bright, it is 100% apparent in your videos that your home schooling system is working brilliantly all the way from kindy to grade 7, but what are your plans for senior high school?

You are such wonderful parents, how could anyone think you would deprive your children from bonding with other people and making friends with other kids. It goes without saying that your family life is so much more than we get to see in the videos. Who could document every moment anyway, let alone posting everything on social media. What I love about your channel, except for the family, is how well you respect your childrens integrity. I remember you saying a long time ago that you never film when there might be disagreements or any child being upset for whatever reason. I admire you so much for caring about that. I hear you, Chloe. I was a homeschooled child in the 90s/early 00s, back when it was still pretty unusual. It's bizarre to hear the socialisation question is still alive and well. I remember being at an event with a group of friends and chatting to a random girl, who, on learning we were homeschooled, asked, "But what about socialisation?" We all just looked at each other and laughed. I tried school for one term when I was twelve, and I could not believe the so-called "socialisation" I witnessed there was meant to be the gold standard against which we had been constantly judged! 😅 Anyway, the "real world" is overrated. I'd much rather a reality in which families like yours re-created the world by raising gentle, confident, authentic people who love learning, and have been given the care and respect they need to be caring and respectful. Thank you for what you do. I find your "highlights" uplifting in these troubled times 💛

I believe everyone should watch how you parent 10 kids! It wasn't any different when there were only 5 too. You and your husband have a general world view that's just mesmerizing to me. You're proving that being gentle does make a huge difference. I don't believe all those 10 kiddos are just naturally gentle souls. Parenting does mean a ton, and you and Roe are great at it! Love your videos, don’t feel you need to explain yourself you do you and let others do them lol Your family is a true reflection on you both. I homeschooled our 3 children for 16 year! It was an enjoyable experience for them!! They are grown now and still have good memories of that time. The question regarding socialization was the most common question I was asked. I always responded with the fact that they were regularly around other people of all different ages and they were very comfortable relating to these people. I also explained to those individuals who were so concerned about my children’s socialization that I liked the idea of exposing them to people who had good character traits that they could emulate. I found that often in a traditional school setting the children did not always have the best character qualities, and I really didn’t want my children to be around that influence where they might possibly copy that behavior. The amazing thing is that now my children are all amazing adults! They are kind and respectful of others and are well like in their communities. They are law abiding citizens who can be trusted by all types of individuals. Keep up the excellent job you are doing with your children! I’m so impressed by how intelligent they all are!!

I home schooled all my children and they were very much social with home schoolers from other coops. If people check the statistics, home schooled children are more likely to be ahead of their age level, more social and outgoing with much better grades. There is so many opportunities like libraries, museums, etc open to children in those facilities designed for growth of those in home school. You both are wonderful parents and your children are so smart. Thank you for sharing parts of your life in your videos, such an encouragement to us.

Does Evan ever ask for his own room? I ve wondered if he’s just old enough he might like having the spare room as his space. It seems to work how you have it set up with 3’s in each room. I like how you just give bits of your life here and there. People comment on the behavior of your children. Have you ever blogged on your thoughts of how you taught them to be so well behaved? Some children are just naturally easier going and some need more help in getting to that point. They’re good kids. You’re great parents. I would have loved to have had the outfits the four little ones when my daughter was little. I love how bright they are. I live far from Australia so I couldn’t just walk in and purchase them, but I’d want to purchase the whole store!!

Dear Chloe, I'm so sorry you get negative comments from time to time, because your channel is lovely, and I (mom of seven kids by birth and adoption) always love seeing how other large families 'work' (at least in snippets!). I would have really enjoyed doing a similar channel to yours when my kids were younger, but the technology wasn't there... It will be wonderful when yours are all grown up to have these videos to look back on. OF COURSE you are showing only snippets; it wouldn't be possible to document your whole lives while living them... and why would you even want to? And OF COURSE you can't show your kids' friends or your friends and relatives on the channel. I'm rather surprised anyone wouldn't understand that. Your channel is not to be confused with Reality TV (which also doesn't really show everything...). You're not playing for drama. What I like are just the little windows we get into a sweet family who does educational and creative things with the kids. I've had strange comments sometimes, as an author of mysteries/suspense novels for kids and teens, from readers who wonder if 'that really happened' to me. And I have to explain that, um, nooo... I haven't actually fallen through a time portal, and my dollhouse isn't haunted! It's not the same as your situation, of course, but just similar in the way that people are sometimes thinking everything they see online or read in a book is the whole "true" story. In any case, I love your snippets, am impressed by your parenting, and recognize a fellow family of clever, contented, well-looked -after children. Carry on! And thank you. xo

I'm always impressed how well your children get along together. I never see them quarrel, at least not on camera. This is rare.

Our house didn’t have skirting boards either. We’ve put them in a few rooms but there are still rooms to do yet. You guys are awesome, such inspirational parents, you have a new baby and it’s just like they’ve been a part of your family forever, just born to be parents which is lovely to see

I've been watching you since the first video you've ever posted. I've grown up with you guys. I've cried with you guys. I've been more proud of you guys during milestones than people I actually know. You've taught me what kinda person and mom I want to be after being raised unloved. That I want to homeschool my future kids. I will always support you guys ❤ I love seeing your family. We will always love you guys.

people think because you share some you have to share everything. You do not have to share every moment of your life. I am sure your friends appreciate you not filming and such. And you guys get time with out a camera on and in your face. I always find your videos so enjoyable and see that your family has a wonderful bond. Keep doing things the way you are comfortable and don't let others force you to do more. so many share everything every single day and they end up burnt out and regretful. Your family is wonderful and you all just keep being yourselves and doing things the way you want to!

I agree, when I begin following you, you where so, so young. It amazed me how mature you have always been. So your channel, your right to put what you want. Just wondering looking Evan growing so much side by side with Ro... How does Ro feels having this kids soon turning into teenagers? Just love how they are similar buy unique each of them at the same time.

I feel like the negativity comes from people who haven’t been following you for a long time. I have followed you every vlog since you announced you were having the twins so I know that your kids get plenty of social interactions outside of their siblings! And I also know you are so respectful of your kids and not showing negative parts of them. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Kiddos did a great job on the race. I'm surprised Hank did as good as he did considering his foot fell through a few times. LOL! I also have NO problem with the way you film. I've been following y'all since the beginning and have loved watching the kiddos grow up. You and Ro are doing a amazing job!!

I have always seen your channel as a let’s hang out with us today type thing. It’s not about sharing the nitty gritty or going to in depth it’s a nice welcome into a snippet of what you’re all up to that day. I am a mum myself and I look up to you. You and Ro are such beautiful parents, you’re so open and welcoming and loving I don’t think children need much more than that to really get the best out of life, you give them more than they could ever want or need. My daughter goes to mainstream school and she hates it, I’m at a loss. I can’t home school as I’m a solo parent and it’s unfortunately jsut isn’t an option, the mum guilt sucks!

I have five children and homeschooled all of them and they are all doing great as adults, they have great careers that they all love and they have always got along with people of all ages not just people their own age. Here in the USA we have a lot of homeschoolers and growing, the schools here are not great, they are really behind academically compared to homeschooled kids. I was always asked the same questions and it was really funny really, I just laughed it off and kept on doing what we loved, now there are so many homeschooled kids that it’s not being bought up anymore. Keep on doing what you love, you have a beautiful family😊❤️❤️
