I remember in high school I had a tick rigjt up high on my leg, in the crease between your leg and your groin. It was part way through the day and I had started to feel unwell and my leg was getting sore and numb. During a class, it dawned on me what might be causing it as I was from a semi-rural area, and felt where I was feeling the most irritated. I could just feel this small smooth bump almost level with my skin. I pulled the leg of my scool shorts up and craned my neck to see, and could see the tick. I asked my teacher if I could go to the sick bay. She asked why, so I told her I didn't feel well. She refused. So then I told her I have a tick. Aside from the class tittering and laughing, she said I couldn't go to sick bay. So, I got my compass and went to work with the pointy end, making sure I got all of the tick out. Obviously once she saw what I was doing she asked what I was doing and demanded I stop. I did stop, after I finished getting all the tick out. And she still didn't let me go to the sick bay. By the end of the period, I was feeling better. By the end of the day, I was feeling alot better. Told my mum when I got home what happened. The next day she drove me to school and had a talk with the school principal. Apparently the teacher was called in and had a talk with the principal and my mum. The rest of that semester, whenever I had her class, she would only talk to me if she had to, but only that, no chit chat. Getting a tick is a serious thing. It probably wasn't the smartest thing I did in how I removed the tick, but by then it had probably been attached to me for 3 or 4 hours, possibly longer.

it was so careless of them to so easily discount a diagnosis that would perfectly explain all the symptoms, just because she had "2 comprehensive physical exams" - it's really easy to miss a tick, especially in hair or private places - it's so silly that they'd discount it without doing an extra even more comprehensive exam - they could have sent a few nurses to comb her through a few times JUST IN CASE.

I love the show as somebody who is immuno compromised has several chronic conditions Dr. house is the best doctor like do you want a doctor that just throws the book out the window and does everything to figure out what’s wrong with you even if it’s for his own mental satisfaction You don’t even care just figure out what’s wrong.

The fact that they took so much time to diagnose its gullian barre is the only accurate thing in this..for me the effects started from my tongue and moved downwards. It took docs 36 hrs to diagnose for me and i was on ventilator till then.

I was diagnosed with guillian barre in 2018- a 5 day treatment of IVIG helped stop it in its tracks

God somebody just let the poor girl kill herself. Its clearly all she wants to do. Literally this entire episode is just this girl nearly dying from the briefest contact with the outside world only for her to be saved and proceed to complain about wanting to go outside. Girl NEEEDS to go to school while knowing shes likely to drop dead seconds after leaving her front door. All she does is try to go outside, nearly die because of it, complain, and try again. Over and over and over and over again. One of the most infuriating patients for sure!
