I met Shaq rookie year. Waited outside when the players used to park in a lot and walk across street. A few metal barriers separating fans. I could hear bass from miles away. Here comes a burgundy suburban with Superman emblems. Hopped over barrier asked for a picture and what a dude. Thanks Shaq

I’m very glad that the Magic finally retiring their numbers. I thought that they will never retiring their numbers because of their policy at that time when they retiring their numbers, you must have to win a championship with the Magic. Congrats again Shaq for your retirement of your jersey #32 and he really deserved that honor. I hope Penny or T-Mac’s #1 or Dwight’s #12 will be next.

Shaq made the 90s so special. I remember being intrigued when I learned a guy was 7’1 and could dominate the paint. Gave the 90s bulls a hard time, had a rap career, being in movies and commercials…humorous as can be. Larger than life! Thank you Shaq for the memories and wisdom 💯

One thing about Shaq is he ALWAYS will give everyone their due respect and flowers, especially to elders and the people before him. Even the very first big man George Mikan, when he fought for better retirement pay and passed away, had his funeral costs covered by Shaq. Even though sometimes arrogant and seemingly selfish, Shaq remains quite the opposite, a testament to how much he values his core beliefs and those close to him. His father raised him right!

He said grant hill deserves to have his jersey retired lol. In 6 seasons with the magic hill played in 200 of the 492 possible games. He averaged 16.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists. No deep playoff runs, no finals appearances, no rings. That is far from jersey retired numbers. Come on now. I mean compared to haslem i guess its worthy.
