Doing what you did is a form of control, you don't like being wrong and by always making sure you can "pretend" she is right in what is a very obvious tactic, it is a way to control the conversation no matter what and take any agency from her for any disagreement. Either she is wrong and admits it, or you pretend she is right which is by default stating you are right and she is wrong and taking away any ability to hold a relationship and conversation about it.

If you just walk away while they are arguing their point and say something to the extent of "I'm not gonna do this right now", then that will come across as "idgaf". Not saying that's what you did in your relationships, but when I have had ex's give me the "You just don't care about me" line during arguments in the past, I wasn't really giving them anything to disprove that claim by saying "screw it" and dipping out of an argument. I have been with my current lady for 10 years and how I handle spats now is to simply say "We are both pretty worked up right now, i'm gonna go to the back room and give you some space away from me right now. We can talk it through in a little bit and get everything worked out."

My 2nd oldest sister was the one that acted like the perfect one. Once I hit my teen years I learnt all of the ways of a female and how they acted by how each one of my sisters acted with their own individual ways. Wow! I knew the story about what happened but Bill Bur spat out the truth about the altercation. And it was true! Maybe not his examples but definitely the gist was accurate.

While the truth is, most men will tell you that most women are abusive when given a chance. This is because there are no ramifications for it. I never knew this, but I've as many times as I've seen this bit and people reacting to it, I cringe when that part comes up as it seems to me Bill himself didn't get what she meant. Now maybe he was just pissed that someone (anyone) yelled out during a taping and I get that, but to me, by her yelling out 'Answer him right!" (as in correctly), she was saying she got what he was saying and telling the AUDIENCE to tell him the truth. She was on his side. Like she'd been through a situation like that before herself. I'd bet she instantly become a non-fan of his after he attacked her and now it's forever imprinted online. The other thing I never see anyone pick up on (because they may not know Bill's terrible history with women before seeing this bit) is I think I heard the story about the house and getting served papers and having to sleep on a Futon actually happened to him. He dismisses it as 'hypothetical' and you hear a few people laugh - I think those people know it wasn't hypothetical and really happened.

He addressed that part of that show on the Monday Morning Podcast years ago and told the story of the woman who yelled out at that show. He said something to the effect of “I shouldn’t have done it, but I flubbed a few lines of my jokes and I didn’t think my delivery was very good for a special. I later came to appreciate that special, but I haven’t seen it in years. It allowed us to buy a house.”
