I'm not a Alief resident but Alief is the suburbs(more so in the 80's-00's) and EVERY historical Black neighborhood in Houston agrees. In 89' as OG say the BDs first formed in SW-Houston, it was other Gangs in the Blacks Hoods. 1st Ward, 4th Ward, 3rd Ward, 5th Ward, Sunnyside, South Park, Hiram Clarke... The Black Hoods sets(outside they Hood) was they Hood. And Alief wouldn't have nothing for none of the Historic Black Hoods in H-Town. They had Gangs, local Gangs but were way more treacherous thanl Alief BDs. In the early 90's Crips were formed in Sunnyside and South Park. Brother Quannel X explains the history of the Crips on Donnie Houston Podcast. But they not lying about visiting some of the Fun spots in they area and thinking it's Sweet. But Fondren-SW made and established the Southwest being what it is and used to be. Them 8-12 Apartment Complexes on Fondren was dangerous. All of em. Then West Bellfort on westward.
@p2a0p2e0r1
@p2a0p2e0r1 Жыл бұрын
The one thing is that BD's wasn't only in Alief. The interview makes it sound that way but BD was in Piney Point, Briar Forest, and Sharpstown...none of them are in Alief. Actually, Piney Point is the oldest Black neighborhood in Southwest Houston. That's why you can still go an see those old small rickety houses when you get on the backstreets near Westpark toll road and Richmond. It was the ghetto before White folks started buying it out and running people off. Piney Point was definitely a hood long before Fondren was, guaranteed.

@@p2a0p2e0r1 Already, im from the City and my fam showed me that Piney Point history and all around the Southside. And most ppl don't know that. And you probably don't know that most the property in Piney Point still owned by Black ppl. I said MOST. They rent and lease shit out. But my point stands, SW-Fondren put Southwest on the map. Fondren street from Main up to St. James Place. Bellfort Boys(gang) next to Walgreens on West Bellfort had that whole area lit. Everybody from 3rd Ward, Sunnyside, South Park, and Hiram Clarke mixed ran that area, along with local area folk. TSU and UofH students too. When Houston was cheap. All the young folk and new family and hustlers swamped them streets. Same for Atrodome area. 👍
@p2a0p2e0r1
@p2a0p2e0r1 Жыл бұрын
@@mytowntrill5441 I'm from Fondren originally and I agree with the statement that Fondren put the SW on the map. But the reason that is bc Fondren was closest to the southside, especially Hiram Clarke. A lot of people from Hiram Clarke was the ones that moved over there and turned up Fondren and made it what it became. Some came from the Park too but a lot from the Clarke.

Well.... In the South and East Coast, there is a LOT of Crips representing the 6 and consider to be cousins to GDs and you have Bloods in the South and East Coast the be representing the 5. It makes it more confusing when a member of the Black P Stones migrating to Los Angeles and aligning under the Bloods.

I moved to Spice Lane in 84, I went to Boone, Ollie , AMS, Killough, and Hastings. Spice Lane is important because it was the first landing spot for Blaq folk in Alief. Alief is where a lot of the bosses moved during the crack era. Most of the birds in Houston were busted in Alief in the 80s and 90s 💯

@@thatGuyQuincy If we were still back in the times before the internet I would agree. Today's reality is if they don't tell their history then they run the risk of letting someone who isn't connected telling it wrong.
