Coogs' House! Jamal Shead is officially an NBA player. The former Houston Cougar Point Guard was drafted 45th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors and Masai Ujiri. "The 6" is a GREAT fit for Shead, whome Kelvin Sampson has called the best leader he's ever coached. Shead pairs with Ja'Kobe Walter, Scottie Barnes, and the rebuilding Raps.

Haven't been especially keen on pro b-ball over the years...at least not since Clyde and Hakeem with the Rockets and Tim Duncan and crew with the Spurs....Will most certainly be watching the Raptors with Shead. GO COOGS!!!!!!

I'm here as an Raptor investor. Seen him in college, he's a dwag, exactly what we want and need. Toronto is a lovely city, and our Raptors are a hard working team, he should fit right in. Hope he makes the full time roster. If you know anything about the Raptors we love point guards like Jamal. Our development program in Toronto is elite in the NBA. If he wants it, he we'll learn how to get it in Toronto. We want and need him, hope he's ready to deliver. Time for Toronto to be on top of the East where we belong. Please never use the word 'rebuilding', in Toronto we don't like or use that Word. It's called 'retooling' in Toronto. Take care

It’s great to hear from the perspective of someone who’s watched Shead for many years. Hopefully he can continue to improve and win a roster spot on the main team and ultimately be a rotation player when the team becomes competitive again.

Jamal sounds like an extremely hard worker, who plays fierce D. Raptors need players like him. Players who can set the defensive standards, same as Scottie does - as we are light on D. He can develop his offense, it's his D that is going to be key early on. We welcome Jamal to the Raptors and to Canada!

Raptors fan here in Toronto. Welcome to Jamal Shead….a great pickup for us. Immanuel Quickley will be the starter and Shead will battle Mitchell for minutes as backup. But really excited to see him in action!

Struck me as more of a 2 at Kentucky and in NY, but enough Toronto folks w this kind of reply for me to think it’s what he did / does for TOR… which is interesting. Having a Swiss Army knife like Scottie has to help too

Raps fan here. Cool assessment all around. The 1 thing that should be mentioned is Ujiri tried to trade Lowry to the Knicks 1st but Dolan shut that trade down. Then the Bargniani trade happened. Then I assume that's when Ujiri began to realize what he had in Lowry and how lucky he was that Dolan rejected that deal. Lol If Shead plays with the heart and defending like Lowry did for the Raps then he's going to be a fan favorite.
