same! wonder where he got the idea on the "v1.0". that front fan placement is really off, (probably reason why the controls are not that good) it's almost attached at the bottom of the fan where it should be higher, just like on the "v2.0" on this video.

It's not aerodynamics, it's moment of inertia. The two fans are close together this way, so they push on the entire craft more uniformly. The further apart they are the more of their force goes into leverage.
@ThreeGoddesses
@ThreeGoddesses Жыл бұрын
I dont think thats the reason. Fans have orientation marks and that dictates movement. Most people arent aware of this and make floaty bikes because their fans arent aligned; the worst of these cases make bikes that drift around in specific directions. When you align the fans properly with the z axis, you can make a bike that inherently prefers power, or manouvering whilst maintaining stability. Im not saying your WRONG, mind you, I just dont think the difference is going to be that great with such a minor adjustment. You would barely notice it. Its likely that building it like this just inherently aligns the fans perfectly with their true orientation. Because if that was entirely the case, the goblin glider would be better, wouldnt it? but the bike outperforms the glider.

If you wanna transport heavy things with your hover bike like shrine crystals or whatever by sticking them to that bike without the weight of said item(s) weighing you down or just want a faster version with more lift and control, try adding two more fans. One left of the stick and one right of the stick. It'll also help you get places faster and go higher faster. It uses a tiny bit more of your energy cells and is extremely easy to control as it is super maneuverable and very stable. Great for transporting heavy objects and reaching higher places quicker. In the fire dungeon, I didn't use a single rail cart. Just the hover bike I described. Most definitely worth building and saving it to your favorites.

My first attempt had me falling off during hard turns because it would roll too far. I reassembled it on flatter ground using the 45-degree fan rotation discussed in other comments and it works great now! It’s able to turn tight enough that I was able to spiral my way up a chasm.
@Dave01Rhodes

There are a few things about this design that I don’t like though. The Steering Stick is at a steeper angle, meaning Link won’t get on if it’s pointed up a hill. The other design, with the front fan connected at the rim, seems to respond less to Yunobo’s weight, and climbs much faster at neutral stick. Also if you’re skimming the ground with this version it seems more prone to catching the ground and flipping over. So I find myself switching back and forth.
@MorganSaph
@MorganSaph Жыл бұрын
Left out some details. - spinning the fans 45 degrees left or right after making them face flat. This is to make sure the fans are perfectly aligned, and not slightly off. - 2nd time controlling the stick is to re-align link, so that the backflip will get the perfect distance, while remaining in-line with the fans. - after angling the stick, you pull back again, then attach to the first fan. - you don't come back from max distance, you attach from max attachable distance. Also, a key detail left out of both your video and No Hypothesis' video: If you auto-build the bike on the ground, the terrain can, and probably will, throw off the alignment, causing a very slight offset, which is noticeable when travelling long distances. Also, also, you forgot to link his video

I have a version of the bike in which I use a Hylean Herb as a front strut between the controls and the front fan. It lets the controls rest flat on the ground when landed, and naturally puts the front fan slightly higher by comparison. I feel like my version controls better and lets me be more stable when I have to carry cargo. Also, the bike doesn't roll over as easy during landing. I also have a version with a dragon scale as a front strut, for volcanic places, but the dragon scale is 3x the weight as the herb, so I prefer the herb.

If you build it right the other way you shouldn't get drift either... the only thing they changed is making sure the handlebars are attached to the same point of the fan to keep the center of mass where it needs to be; so that it's easier to control. If you're getting drift, that means the fans themselves aren't aligned, which is a different problem; but the build guide in this video does its best to prevent that from happening.

@@Dave01Rhodes It does have weight, just not enough to mess with the 2-fan hoverbike. I've tried putting one on a 1-fan hoverbike and took a noticeable hit to its already-poor climb characteristics.

Did the same thing but 20x faster by just using the control arrow for turning them to line it up perfectly with the control unit lol. Takes 5 seconds but hey this works too to really get it set perfectly .

So I figured this out myself and it actually helpful so let me explain after doing the fuse and your mashing left on dpad when it comes up switch to the shield that has the buff or stat you want.then drop the fused shield after that pick up duped shield then pick up fused shield you dropped . after you done that when you break them apart they both will have the stats and buffs hope it helps bc I been doing it for a while idk it works for 1.1.0 or 1.1.1 so try it yourself! No one haven't make a video about it so knock yourself out!😁 Make sure you give credit

Yeah that’s just a perfect aligned hover bike. Dose make a big difference though. You can also use a few stake to help align.

Alright you earned a like from me if only by solving the slightly annoying flaw in my auto build that only occurs when pulling back to gain altitude (the rear fan is slightly off center so it gradually rotates clockwise at full climb. Not that annoying unless your climbing altitude alot over long distance)

I just use three fans it’s so much better. Two in the back right next to each other and one in the front. The control is so much better and the landings are so much better .

I think i still prefer the segway design with the fans angled at 45 degrees and to the left and right of the steering stick. Maybe I've just gotten used to it. But the hover "bike" design has me crashing into mountains way more than id like

Saaame. You end up building 2.0 (maybe a bit decentred) if you build without props or stakes. (I was too lazy to build either) But still I'm going to give this a try and build the perfectly aligned Hb 2.0

I wonder if the big difference ISNT the uniformity of the build but rather that its properly aligned with both fans true alignment

People keep saying "press b to cancel control, but on the switch pro controller if you press b link will flip jump off of the control stick. The button to have him stop without flipping is "x" on pro controller.

I think you changed the setting that swaps b and x, because I use a pro controller and X does the flip.

im a little confused about it being 2.0. thats how the hoverbike looks like from start right?? or im i wrong? to me, your version 1.0 is a new look. never seen the front fan attached to the middle of the fan like that, should be attached a little higher like almost to the tip, just like the 2.0. anyway great tutorial definitely will help many people.

I just prefer 2 fans in the front and one on the back. My spaceship is super maneuverable, fast, can climb and descend quickly, and at 12 zonite it's a steal. Power consumption isn't a problem and it stays level even with a korok attached.
