This is about my 6 year old son that was diagnosed with Autism and Apraxia at 18 months old. The past few years have been rough as Sam has no sense of danger and would often run into the street or into parking lots. He would also have very severe meltdowns whenever we left the house. For the past two years we have been a prisoner in our home. We stopped taking Sam out because he would get so upset and would often run off. We were given an amazing gift from Guiding Eyes For The blind - Heeling Autism. We have gotten Hagrid, an Autism Service Dog. Hagrid has public access and travels with us wherever Sam goes. They are tethered together so Sam can no loner run off. Since we have gotten Hagrid Sam doesnt even try to run off. He is calm and happy when we are out. He is like a different child. Guiding Eyes For The Blind has given my entire family back our lives. I cant thank them enough!
