Hand-crafted for classic sports cars, hot rods, and lowriders, wire wheels use up to 84 handset metal spokes arranged in geometric patterns to support the weight of a vehicle. Turrino Wire Wheels in England focuses on rims for European luxury classics, from Ferraris to Aston Martins. Each made-to-order wheel can take up to 12 hours to build, and a set can cost over $3,300. Here's how they're built.

The first thing you gotta do is get them ceramic coated, it will help. But then either way, they are a horrible designed wheel in terms of maintenance. They are less appealing once an owner realizes they will always look dirty and take too long to clean

A lot of potential for process improvement using robotics and 5 axis machining. That might reduce the retail price significantly. High quality for less retail cost. Or they could keep the retail price the same and have a larger profit sharing system with the workers.

As a bicycle wheel builder, I'm surprised they aren't better. 1mm on true isn't great, but probably acceptable with that tire volume. More important to me is stress relieving the wheel to ensure even spoke tenson. This can be done maintaining true and round.

I work on bicycle and i do build rim+spoke+hub together myself. And let me tell you it's a very hard job to build a wheel if you try for the first time. I don't imagine how much more difficult it must be to do it on a car wheel with spokes that do not bend at all by hand. 4:04 there's 2 thing to check for, true-ing the wheel and the Up-&-Down.
