I recently discovered that 3b1b actually wrote his own animation engine as a python library, read more about it at www.manim.community

I once saw a computer science channel using all the same video effects as 3b1b, now I know how! It's really good of Grant to open source it, he's a good guy...

This video just appeared in recommended (I was actually curious about how he makes these) and I'm surprised how small your channel is yet so I'm just gonna leave a comment to help with the algorithm. Keep up the good work!

The curios case of YT algo. I guess you've watched some coding videos before, just like others here. And YT algo recommended it to you because it found the watch time good from other people similar to you, and me.

yeah, it's amazing how streamlined it is now. I'm sure it was very complicated for Grant though lol

Great Explaination, I am really interested to understand how the library works internally? and FFmpeg is just for video compilation and mp4 as I can remember, what other software are they using at the backend?
@TonyZhang012 жыл бұрын
I’m not exactly sure myself, but looking at the library, it seems that there’s a dependency called pycairo, which is a graphics library.

I am a beginner with python. When recreating your circle and square, my class Something(Scene) line is underlined as an error. When called, it says there are no scenes in that module. Below, it says Expected type 'Union[VMobject, OpenGLVMobject, OpenGLSurface]', got 'Type[Circle]' instead. Don't as me about any colors, I am colorblind. looking for help. I'm using pycharm community edition. Edit I'm dumb. I was calling a file from the wrong directory.

Any LaTeX example? Because it is where all hell comes loose. Nothing works and thousand of error messages.
@Damjes2 жыл бұрын
It's not pronounced lejteks, but lejtech or latech. LaTeX has X on the end, but it's not iks, but it supposed to be greek chi, so one should pronounce it h/ch like in Holiday or Hospitality or someHow.
@HiImKyle2 жыл бұрын
That first example of creating a circle just pumps out an image and not a video for me?
@TonyZhang012 жыл бұрын
if you typed -s instead of -p, it would mean it saves the last frame, or if there was no animation, it would also make an image. make sure you passed Create(circle) into self.play() instead of just circle, (or used self.play() instead of self.add())
