How can you make a story about fighters' money and not mention the UFC taking away their ability to wear sponsored shorts? This lawsuit might not even exist if UFC didn't take away sponsorships.

@@jerinmathew4726 A lot of prelim fighters are starting with 14k/14k and 4k sponsorship money, so you'll only get 18k when you lose the fight. Terrance Mckinney made at UFC 263 28k and an undisclosed bonus. I understand that they didn't want to have these odd companies on the shorts of the fighters, because it doesn't look great on tv. They should've made some restrictions on what kind of sponsors should've been allowed on the shorts, but we all know they wanted to please the shareholders by taking away from the fighters.

They get paid based on popularity not their actual skill level. Connor set that "popularity sells" concept up really well in modern MMA. @@basedmadoka9479 the whole artistry of mma in UFC has been diluted. Gone of the ways of Machidas karate. Gone are the ways of Silvas Muy Thai. I say mma in UFC because there is no real headstrong mma organization outside the UFC. PFL is coming up. But back to subject, the majority of fighters today are cookie cutter mold brawl kickboxers with a base in wrestling because it works. The UFC has made it tough for fighters to promote advertisements like their gyms as well and its made the sport inherently more selfish. One can see the reasons why the UFC would eliminate fighters ability for branding.
