Thieves in law are the leaders of the criminal world, one of those who can be attributed to this category. But even in Soviet times, the death penalty was not often applied to them. The last thief sentenced to capital punishment in the USSR was Mamiya Manjavidze, known as Mamuka of Kutaisi. When trying to detain in Saratov, this audacious criminal staged a real militant with a chase and shooting, the victims of which were several people. They were looking for him all over the USSR, and in the meantime he was robbing the apartments of the capital's officials and merchants.
